Apparently a humongous rain storm is hitting this weekend that's going to cause a lot of flooding

I'll be driving straight into it on Friday. Headed to East Texas to see family. 100% chance of rain on Saturday, so I guess I'm not getting my deer feeders set up

Be safe all!

It's supposed to basically just stall over the city.
That's what Allison did to us too (I lost my vehicle during that doozie).
Not lookin' forward to this one.

Allison was an incredible event that will probably never be repeated in our lifetime

I sure hope you're right.
I don't like hearing that we'll be underwater next week.

Sounds like you need to change your plans. Don't put yourself into it if you don't have to.

San Augustine is far enough from the coast that I'm not worried. They got damage during Rita, but that's the only time in recent memory anything like this made it to that part of Texas. Got family from all over coming in. Brother brought a good bit of wine with him from Italics (Aggie owned and operated in Napa). Should be a good time.

Gotta be a prepper. I have like 6 cases in the pantry.

Make sure y'all get gas tomorrow and don't wait until Friday.

I just managed to grab a few cases of water, but there were fewer than a handful left.
Here're some shots of HEB I just snapped about half an hour ago (9.45p):

I managed to get like 10 liter bottles from Kroger. That plus dumping my milk for tap water should be enough for one dude through the weekend.

I'm jealous...it's rained .1 of an inch in the past two months here. I would take some violent storms and rain right about now so I stop choking on wildfire smoke.

Any insider that was it the FEMA meeting this morning is telling people that he knows that what the media is reporting is only about 30% of what they are actually expecting from the storm system . emergency planning is expecting this to be much worse and are asking the media/news to tone it down . Take it for what it's worth
