It depends on what your definition of country is. If it is cowboy hats, farm living, etc...then it's TX. If it's country music related, then it's TN. If it's meth related then it's AR.

However, in now shape or form is it GA, Lewdog. You can't just discount 60% the population of that state.

Depends on your definition of "Country"

Cowboy Hats and Snakeskin boots - Texas
Redneck - Take your pick/The South
Row Crop - Corn and Soybean States
Livestock Judges/Showers - Oklahoma
Trashy (different than redneck)- Take your Pick/The South

To me, Rednecks and Trashy folks aren't country. If you have a significant beach community, I don't really consider you country either.

I think definitions need to be set. If you're talking a true agricultural "country" I'd suppose the coastal plains of south Ga are right up there along with the Delta regions. If you're talking hillbilly country then you'd look elsewhere. Big difference between country rednecks and hillbillies.

Of course as mentioned metro ATL in and of itself makes Ga a hard sale.

I've lived in...

FL
GA
TX
AL
NC

I go to SC, GA, VA, all the time.

WV is by far the most redneck joint on the block, and it ain't close.

It depends on what you man by "Country". Are we talking good country people, farmers, rednecks?

Missouri is #6 in cattle production with 4 million head

#6 in soybean production

#7 in pork

#10 in corn

I'll put our Whitetail and Turkey hunting up against anywhere in the country.

20 years ago, my answer would have been "Kentucky",times have changed though, and now my answer is "Louisiana". This isn't a put-down.

Mostly because more people there tend to live off the land, raise gardens, stuff like that. Even in towns, you still see more people with sideyard gardens and such.

The best tomatoes I ever had, came out of a woman's 1/2 acre, chain link fenced yard in Bridge City.
