With our game coming up this week I have been focusing on more of each teams weeknesses than their strengths. Would love to hear LSU fans thoughts on your top three weeknesses going into the Bama game that you believe could result in a loss.

I will share mine about Bama. I know some will use this as an opportunity for jokes but I am looking for serious and thought provoking discussion.

1st- Our inconsistency at FG has me scared to death it will come down to a 4th QTR kick to win or lose and we will not be successful.

2nd- inconsistency with our OL is another huge area I am concerned with. Will our offense keep your DL out of the backfield and not make numerous dumb penalties and missed assignments? So far this year it has not been the case and we shoot ourselves in the foot. Very Up and Down.

3rd- 3rd down conversion has been terrible for us this year. We dont have Blake Simms back there making first downs with his feet and getting us out of trouble time and time again. Coker has a very good arm, but he needs protection and has to stay mentally focused. On 3rd downs this year we have not looked good. Will it come back to bite us this week?

I can tell you that the LSU secondary loves to blow coverage .

LSU passing game is #116 out of 127. Stop the run, win the game...that first part isn't easy to do though lol

1. Our secondary has blown coverages all year and has yet to put a nail in the coffin when we are ahead in the second half.

2. Our special teams have been the worst I've seen it at LSU in a long time! Hopefully we can cover kicks and punts to give is a chance to pin Bama back.

3. Getting too conservative with a lead. I understand the reason for it but I think it could hurt us if we get a lead in this game, and completely throw the pass game out the window. This could cause plenty 3 and outs and out pressure on our defense. Kinda what happened in the Florida game.

LSU weaknesses coming in to the Bama game:

1) special teams. Specifically the punting unit
2) secondary. Our guys get out of position a lot and blow the coverage (I hate to give this away on the board, Saban might read this and figure it out from my post where we're vulnerable)
3) bama has won 84 National Championships and never loses ever to anyone

Some of the LSU and Bama walk-ons are not elite talents.

Not a weekness but derrick henry plays a bit like khiry robinson. Does anyone else agree?

Our special teams freaks me out. I don't know if we have a 50 yard punt all year and our kick returns luckily haven't cost us yet but will if it doesn't get cleaned up.

Harris has shown flashes of brilliance but I haven't seen a full consistent game that we had to pass to win. We'll need to pass to win this one

Consensus agree for LSU. Secondary blown coverage, and special teams with the exclusion of field goals

LSU fans consistently mention the weakness in their secondary which can allow some big break passes from our offense. But that balances out with Bama's weakness on the OLine. Your secondary may blow coverage but Bama's OLine will allow the Tigahs to pressure Coker and when that happens and the play design breaks down he has a tendency to panic and throw the ball directly at purple & yellow jerseys wherever they may be downfield. Pressure Coker and don't worry about that secondary. Every time the OLine crumbles and he's being pursued in the backfield and is scrambling us Bama fans almost pop from acute blood pressure spikes cause we know what's coming. It's sloppy and has happened in almost every game. Interceptions and sacks. God damn I hope our OLine comes to play Saturday. RMFT and here's to a good game in the annual SEC Super Bowl!

I'm more worried about the secondary than anything. We are too talented in the secondary to keep on allowing busted assignments and letting teams throw the ball. Now the good thing is Bama can't really throw the ball and our front 7 is pretty good. This will be a game in the trenches and whoever is able to throw the ball will win the game

bamas biggest weakness, and really the cause of pretty much all our offensive trouble, is having no idea from play to play if the offensive line is going to look like the best in college football or like they have never played a down together. they do this multiple times, sometime on back to back plays. 2nd biggest weakness seems to be 1st down cutesy play calling that nobody is falling for. i cant cant the number of 1st down plays that went for negative yards when if we would have just run a base running play for 3 or 4 yards we likely would end up keeping the drive going.

Having watched a few Bama games (not entire games though) and watching LSU....my .03 worth: LSUs OL is pretty damn good and kept B. Harris protected for the most part. If Harris has the time then he will kill Bama as most QBs would if given enough time.

Of course Fournette is a runaway beer truck and he will get his. You just want to keep him in front of you at all times. UF did a good job of not allowing explosive plays by him.
The LSU passing game is ok...nothing special...but they did get us a few times because we were so concern with stopping LF.

Bama has very good DL and will try to throttle LSUs run game and make them throw. Bamas LBs are good. The secondary is good...not great. LSU will try to get third and short downs to prevent pass rushes.

Bama on offense is where LSU will try to expose them..I am inclined to believe LSUs DL is almost as good as Bamas & UFs DLs. If they are able to stop Henry a lot, then Coker will have to throw more than Saban wants. Kiffin will plan on pounding LSU with Henry and subbing enough to keep legs fresh....dont know if Drake is injured, but he is needed. The constant runs with Henry will of course set up the deep ball....Bama is sneaky and loves to throw deep when teams are having hard time stopping Henry. Both teams are ok on special teams but Bama might be better at coverage of kicks and punts.
The home field is huge...but in a rivalry game like this for the all the marbles....home field is offset some. I hope to see a lot of the game after we play early game against Vandy.

1. Inconsistent OL play
2. Poor decision making by the QB & QB staring down receivers
