You can’t get another SEC player after 2/1/24 via the portal. They have to sit out a year. RW is not sitting out a year.

Actually, they are not in the SEC until July 1st. I do understand we know they will be in there. But for sake of this discussion it was due to them not technically being an SEC team yet. But the powers to be have said in this case they will be treated as if they are already a member.

Within 5-10 years there will be a major overhaul of the sport as we know it. This could come in the form of leaving the NCAA to form a private league.

The rule is if you transfer within the winter portal or head coaching change. But after winter portal you can’t.

Per Andy Staples…. The SEC has informed him that SEC teams will not be able to recruit players from TX and OK without having to sit out a year in the Spring transfer portal. Even though the two will not officially become SEC schools until July 1st, they will still fall under the new SEC rule where no players can transfer to another SEC school after 2/1/24 and play in the fall.
Not sure how I feel about this. If they are not SEC schools why should it apply? But I guess it’s a technicality that goes against the spirit of the rule.

Who do you think is your team’s biggest loss and pickup after post spring games once the portal reopens.
I think Bama will lose Lonergan or Simpson from the QB room and pick up a starting CB or Safety from the Big 10.

So enjoying fan bases eating this up. All the pressure is off Alabama now. Going to make each win so juicy when we beat teams with “trash” players. Guess it will mean either our overall coaching is better or other teams suck worse than we thought.
Will be a fun season regardless. All kidding aside. I know the people who really know football are not thinking Bama will be a push over in 2024.

First, I will say that Bama has a huge challenge in posting a win on Saturday against UGA. However, if they do pull off the win, there is a 100% chance get get into the playoff. There is no way the committee leaves out a 12-1 SEC champ who went undefeated in the SEC and beat the #1 team in the country the last week of the season.
Not a chance they get left out. The question is, does UGA also get in. I do believe with a Bama win and Texas win, they both are in and FSU is likely sitting at home.

So many fans dislike analyst and play by play guys purely based on their personality or homerism to their team.
I know this won’t be a popular comment. But give me a Gmac, Gary D or Todd Blackledge any day of the week. Those guys know the game and generally are talking above the average fans overall knowledge of the sport. I love listening to them break down what is happening in game as if they are on the field themselves processing each play and what comes next.

He answers question in first 60 seconds. They basically ask is he staying at Auburn. He doesn’t say yes. He says his goal is to get to the NFL and get through his injury and will decide where he will play after that.
