Hershel walker, Michael Vick (think he was true freshman), and Adrian Peterson led their teams to national championship game

And Maurice Clarett. I'll conveniently forget everything that happened afterwards.

He gets the ball forced to him so often it's difficult to say. I think there have been many recievers that were better but played in balanced offenses that only threw the ball 25 times a game vs 40 like Aggy. You'd have a hard time convincing anybody that Kirk is better than AJ Green, Julio Jones, OBJ as a freshman regardless of stats. While Kirk is very good, the offense he is in inflates his stats and makes him appear all-world.

No doubt. In fact, I think a nickname and attendant trademark are in order.

Hope this is a troll topic because what a ridiculous assertion after two games. Kirk is special no doubt. I think he reminds me of Percy Harvin. Explosive with the ball in his hands and we move him around a lot. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a few carries (not as many as Harvin) at some point since he did play both wide receiver and running back in high school.

By your logic LF7 is only good because the offense inflates his stats by never throwing?

Which assistant coach do you think he will choose to choke? If he really wants to be Harvin, he'll need to go with Aaron Moorehead.

I know he wasn't the best freshman of all time, but I sure wish we had freshman Marcus Lattimore back. Was National freshman of the year, and his performances against Georgia, Alabama, and Florida that year were pretty incredible. Great player on the field, even better person off of it. Shame injuries took his football career.

Sure. And he plays on the third best team in Texas.

You're cute.

Baylor and especially TCU are nowhere near as good as they were last year w/how bad their defenses have played.

If A&M were to play either it would be an extremely high scoring shootout.

Hope he doesn't get "injured" mysteriously and have to miss next season like last year's greatest freshman ever.

It's completely reasonable. These other receivers were rarely thrown the ball. Aggy is all stats all the time but you can have a great player that puts up average stats due to frequency of touches per game.

Typical aggie: 4 games played, 2 against marginal at best teams with the bulk of league games starting this wkend. Reminds one of how JF was so great & going to lead the aggies to glory land after...4 games. Recall how that season ended, aggie?
