re: How do we know Frank isn't OC??

He's going to be assigned RB's or WR's.

We've always had a DL coach with O as HC. It won't be anything new. Also, we essentially have two receivers coaches in Mangas and Joseph. It worked out pretty well when it was Joe Brady and Joseph.
re: Why does O show his cards?

O is just honest. And if a grown man's ego is weakened by not being the previous favorite then I don't want him as DC.

Geezus dude how many times you gonna post this?
Some people in this world are just really insecure and project that onto everything around them. And apparently all of those people are members of this website.

If he chooses ND, he's not looking to be a one year and done coach. If he chooses LSU, he's looking at upward mobility.
His impact as a DC has a much better chance to be seen from a defense where the statistical bar is so low that it would be easy to cross.
Exactly. He's looking for the best stepping stone for his career. Not to mention he has a big family and can't ignore the pay difference.
Btw, I seriously doubt that if ND offers him extra money under the table he's going to sign a relatively tiny contract and count on the secret money.

In our minds only
Which part? We consistently pay our OC's nearly one million a year more than ND can even pay their head coach. We're going to offer triple what they offer. Our defensive players are more talented. Our competition is more talented. Which part is not objectively true?

We may offer him more than Kelly makes. That with the talent on the roster we just cross our fingers and hope it all works out.
This. LSU will offer more than ND could ever dream to offer. He also will have better talent and a bigger stage to showcase his abilities as a coach. It should be a no brainer.
re: ESPN offers 15 total presentations of the CFP National Championship

I get that, but the 'Samsung QLED blah blah blah' is a deal between Samsung, espn, Comcast, and DirecTV. They're excluding other providers even if those providers can handle 4k.

I think it'll look better than other broadcasts anyway.
ETA: I'm looking for any proof that I'm wrong, though. Sure hope so.

The only broadcasts in 4k will be through DirecTV and Comcast cable. No streaming apps or other cable services will show in 4k. That really sucks for me, but at least they're supposed to expand it next year.
re: Over the long term average, what is the minimum Louisiana recruits we should annually sign
Posted by panterica on 1/8/20 at 2:59 pm
I really hope our coaches don't think much about this crap. Talent and potential are everything. The only time we prefer local kids over others should be when all else is equal between them. LSU recruiters should NOT have to walk on eggshells for local high school coaches.
re: Huge news on Jordan Burch from Chad Simmons
Posted by panterica on 12/30/19 at 10:51 am
The guy said he and his mom are on the same page with him going to SC. He also said he's not responding to LSU or any other coaches still recruiting him. Unless he's flat out lying, he's going to SC.

Luck is fake. All in your head. And you're scared of it? Good thing our coaches are smarter than that.
re: O expected 22, or 23 in the Early Signing Period
Posted by panterica on 12/18/19 at 2:06 pm
I'm not worried about the talent we'll have at WR. Burch would've been a difference maker, but he was never at any point a sure thing for us. Plus the last time we had space left in a signing class we filled it later with a Heisman QB.

There's literally no reason he wouldn't finish the season.

I’ll be the first to say I wasn’t thrilled with the O hire. That said, I was wrong.
I was pretty excited about the hire, because I imagined a new offense and a pretty high ceiling for our recruiting. I even defended the hire online. I still didn't imagine it becoming like it is today.
Joe Brady is exactly what we needed, and coach O deserves all the credit for that hire.

Don't know if it's been said here, but Philip Webb just got a new crystal ball to LSU

I can't get into all the reasons right now, but there are some deep state reasons why Tua is done at Bama. Look for an announcement during pre-game that he has had a "set back". He is done.
If you fell for a rumor that he also has a broken bone, then I have some beach front property to sell you up here in Iowa.

The surgery holds his bones together so that his healing ligaments are under no strain while he's active. He'll play, probably painlessly.
