Maybe the biggest in college football history. I was there.
Per Wikipedia:
The Fifth Down Game was a college football game that included a play that the crew officiating the game permitted to occur in error. That play enabled the Colorado Buffaloes to defeat the Missouri Tigers by scoring a touchdown on the last play of their game on October 6, 1990. The ensuing controversy cast doubt on Colorado's claim to Division I-A's 1990 national championship, which it shares with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. It has been called one of the top memorable moments and blunders in college football history.

Spent the day with my Dad in NOLA. Randomly ran into two of his HS buddies that tons of his stories from back then are based around. He's not one to seek those friends out anymore so it was great to see him run into them and reminisce.
Ate lunch at Palace Café that my girlfriend-now wife-was nice enough to send a gift certificate to pick up the check for.
Walked up and down Bourbon and throughout the French Quarter. Enjoyed one of the single greatest days of my life with my Dad.
Then watched without question the most galling, gut-wrenching, most complete and total defeat of the one team in organized sport that I love more than any other. In their single greatest, most dominant season in their history.
Was so bittersweet convincing my Dad to stay until the end. I wanted to soak in every second of the experience because in a sense, the outcome was shockingly bad and yet, I sort've didn't want the day to end regardless of how incredibly sobering the outcome on the field was.
I'm not sure how many more games my Dad has in his life, but we were in the Dome for two National Championship Games where LSU was on the field and Nick Saban was the coach. If nothing else, we saw the first one in almost 50 years back in 2003. But somehow, 010912 was more poignant because I'm not sure if I'll ever enjoy a season, or a day, or my father's company like that ever again.
This is a beautiful and worthwhile post. What it's all about. You sir have perspective.

2008 blackout. Only game I've ever left at halftime.

Saban's last LSU game. Iowa players both "held" and "clipped" on the final play of the game and neither were called a penalty.

the entire 2011 A&M football season.
5 second half leads blown (Arky, Okie Light, KState, Mizzou, texas) in 6 losses w/the 6th (OU) being a fairly even game until the typical Sherman collapse in the 3rd quarter.
Then again... we should have known blown leads in games we seemingly controlled would be the end of Sherman since that's how he started his A&M HC career vs friggin Arkansas State.

2006 game with UGA. Stafford had been hot garbage going into the game, really thought it would be an easy one and got the doors blown off.

Man. Ain't heard this name in a long time! I have a video of him coming in a distant second place in the 200m final at the Earl Campbell Relays in 1999 if it makes you feel better.

1994 Auburn
Jamie Howard threw 4 pick sixes and we lost by 2 pts. LSU had a 23-9 lead in the 4th quarter. On the score that tied it I still remember clutching my yellow Lab puppy, Sandy, and watch Howard throw into triple coverage where it was picked off easily by Fred Smith, and then of course he dove into the endzone.

I hate HIM more than JJ :castly:

This is it for most Clemson fans, the lost to G Tech in 2004 at Clemson, nothing worse than choking in 4th quarter to a team with Reggie Ball as QB:

Miracle on Markham. I guess it was karma for the Bluegrass Miracle.

The Georgia game from last year:
We marched down the field and scored on the 1st drive. They blocked the PAT, and we even got turnover (I think?) on their 1st drive. It was 7-6 after the 1st quarter. After the 2nd quarter though, the score was 38-6 and then I turned the channel. Not sure what happened afterwards.....
