Who killed Arkansas basketball? Broyles or Nolan?

I remember some of those Nolan teams towards the end of his tenure were more than a little suspect. Had that style of ball just played its way out?
Or was Broyles hiring of Heath and Pelphrey the end?

John White mostly.
Bill Self wanted the job after Nolan was fired but he wanted a black head coach for obvious reasons.

No one killed it... Nolan caught lightning in a bottle with a unique style and talent, a lot of which was home grown.
That's all over... The rules and the game have changed to the point where arkansas is no different than any other middle of the pack SEC team.

The same thing that kills a lot of good things, political correctness. We could have hired about anyone when Nolan was fired, namely Bill Self, but we had to hire a black coach to prove we weren't racists and we got Stan Heath.

Kentucky, mid 90's. Nolan never recovered and went on a tirade after a UK loss and lost his job.

Broyles by pissing off Nolan then hiring the two 'tards that followed him. Had Bill Self hired. Of course, taking Heath over Self wasn't all on Frank.
We didn't have to suck for the last twenty fricking years!!!! ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconwah.gif)

Nolan's belief that he could have a subpar season probably came from Houston Nutt, who did have subpar seasons and was rewarded by Broyles for it. Nolan was on a hot seat. He felt like there was going to be a never-ending series of brass rings to reach for. His outbursts in the press are probably the outbursts he had for Broyles.
Also, Andre Iguodala playing for Nolan Richardson would have been amazing.
