Since the Bonfire tragedy. Can't believe it's been that long.

shocking to me it's been that long. It seems like just yesterday my phone starting blowing up in the middle of the night. I don't get emotional about much but this is one I do. I tend to avoid the subject mostly though

Here. Also just a suggestion to everyone, don't make this thread on the rant. Just don't do it

Hard to believe I'm old enough for that to have been 15 years ago.
Thinking about them tonight.

Here.
Some of my most vivid childhood memories are of watching that thing burn. Something you never forget.
Doesn't feel like 15 years at all.

Goosebumps.
This was long before I was an Aggie fan, but I remember it on the news.

Here
While I wasn't old enough to fully comprehend the magnitude of what happened, I'll always remember attending the Texas game with my dad. I tear up when I see replays of that game.

I've pretty much gone AWOL from this site. I was having a real tough time reconciling both my faith and my belief system(s) with the random, confusing hatred on tSECr. Yeah, I get the whole schtick of it, but sometimes I just choose to spend my life around less toxicity, ya know? Anyway, rather than getting all bitchy & preachy in each of the lousy threads (wouldn't everyone have appreciated that? Ha), I just bowed out.
But on this day, Ags need each other more than we do on any other day. We are family.
Unfortunately I'm far from Texas right now and won't be out at The Site tonight. It's weird--each year when the day comes, I ask God to give me the words to describe my feelings; but I still lack them. Maybe next year?
Anyway, in lieu of the words that still won't come, I thought I'd share some artifacts (from the days following the collapse) that I keep in my Bible.

Can't believe it's been that long. I was 11 years old and I didn't really understand the significance at the time, but looking back it was one of the few times I've ever seen my dad cry. He was a yellowpot back in the day and it really hit him hard.
Never forget.
Never forget.

I cant believe it has been 15 years. I fell asleep watching ferris beullers day off in my room that night or else i would have been on stack. The combined band c.o. Had told us not to go out but i was planning on going anyway. It is a yough day every year.
My prayer is the God heals and supports all thise affected by that night physically emotionally and spiritually.

Here.
What will always get me is that there were exactly 12 people who perished.
12.
The biggest number in Texas A&M tradition.
