According to TA resident meteorologist, Air Force Ags:
***19 Aug 11:50 AM Update***
Doc AFA Weather Forecast Record last year was 11-1. Thanks be to God and the spot-on Air Force Weather Agency Ensembles!
***NOTE: If you want updates on game day, please go follow me on Twitter...@Doc_Sanger. This is how I am updating my followers as kick off draws closer. I will also revise this thread once a day.
Well, it has been an extremely long offseason full of anticipation and anxiety as life without Johnny begins in earnest. So, I will not delay giving you the very first Aggie Game Day Weather Forecast to go along with a bold prediction...Ags cut off the foul-smelling chickens' heads and embarrass them in their own coup, 38-21!
BOTTOM LINE: If you are traveling to the game in Columbia, you will definitely need to pack your poncho and rain boots as showers & thunderstorms will be a good bet, especially on Thursday afternoon and evening. It is still early and things may change for the better, but seeing a majority of the 63-model members agree on rain is not a good sign (see probability of rain map below).
Midnight Yell Practice: Mostly cloudy, warm, and humid with a 30% chance of showers and an isolated thunderstorm. The temperature will be around 76F. Southeasterly winds at 5-10 mph. Relative humidity of around 90%.
Tailgate Weather: Becoming partly cloudy, warm, and humid with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, increasing to 60% by early afternoon. Southeasterly wind at 5-10 mph with gusts to 20-25 mph near thunderstorms. The temperature at daybreak will be around 74F before rising into the mid-to-upper-80s by noon. The relative humidity will start off around 95% before dropping to around 60% by the early afternoon. The heat index will be in the low-to-mid 90s. Total rainfall amounts between 0.1 and 0.25 inches.
Kickoff Weather: Mostly cloudy, warm, and humid with a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Southeasterly winds at 5-10 mph with gusts to 20-25 mph near thunderstorms. Total rainfall amounts between 0.1 and 0.2 inches.
Temp: 82F at kickoff, 80F at half, and 79F by end of game
Relative Humidity: 80-90%
Heat Index: Mid-80s
Winds: Southeasterly 5-10 mph; 20-25 mph near storms
Chance of Rain: 60%
Chance of Thunderstorms: 40%
Flying Weather (for those coming by private/commercial air): 80% chance of VFR conditions (ceiling/visibility > than 3000 feet/3 miles) from Wednesday morning through Friday morning.
Cheers,
Doc AFA

Thanks for this. I'll pack accordingly, but no way this is as miserable as Ole Miss '12!

But, how will our Texas and Louisiana boys survive all that heat and humidity?

That was just a nasty day. No matter how much it rains in August, there's no way it approaches that misery. Damn good thing we won :-)

Last year's season opener vs UNC had a late game hour plus delay due to weather.

IIRC it has rained pretty often in USC home openers.

I froze my balls off. Instead of wearing a hoodie/jacket per usual i tried to class it up as we were tailgating with some ole miss friends that work para mi padre. Undershirt and button up soaked through. I don't recall the actual temperature being that cold, but my poncho didn't have a hood.

I actually am ok with rain. I feel like rain and possible delays (before and during) in the game may tone the environment down for our young QBs.

I don't give much credibility to forecasts 8 days out. I'll take notice when I look at Tuesday evening's forecast when I start to pack.
