Bama's "dynasty" was nearly a 10-3 team

I fully acknowledge that Alabama was 11-1 in the regular season, won the SECCG and the BCSNCG.
However, as an LSU fan and hearing all the bitching and moaning about how far Alabama is ahead of us, etc. etc. etc.
It just doesn't escape me that:
a. Alabama was outplayed in Baton Rouge and was within 90 seconds of losing that game.
b. Alabama was beaten by aTm at home the next game. Had AJ not thrown an int at the goal line - they could have won that game too - acknowleged.
c. They were within a play or 2 of losing to UGA in the SECCG --- and had UGA not squandered the last 30 seconds of clock -- UGA may have beaten Alabama too.
Thus making them 10-3 --- however, as we all know ... IF they lost to LSU and aTm -- the would NOT have been playing UGA -- so it's not realistic to say they would have lost to LSU, aTm, and UGA this season.
My point is really that while Alabama has won 3 BCS title in 4 years --- they simply are NOT that far ahead of everyone else --- they are ahead, no doubt... but it's a damn close race and the the magin of difference on any given week fluctuates enough that other good teams can beat them.

It was a rebuilding year and Bama still won the national championship. Yes, they are that far ahead of everybody.

"Nearly"...
And y'all "nearly" beat Clemson.

If a team wins a game, how were they "outplayed?"

"dynasty" isn't appropriate when a team is in the midst of a 3/4 run. Dynasty is the correct "term"

And 2011 was the best Bama team of all time and they lost to LSU at home and didn't win the SEC West.
The OP makes a good point, although it is useless to make it now. Alabama is THAT far ahead of everyone else where it counts, which is championships - 2 of the last 4 SEC titles and 3 of the last 4 National Titles. No one else can say that.
