re: Anyone know why Orgeron was so upset with Finley? Should have never done on the field.

I did not actually see it live -- but if a player at the highest level of D1 can't take an arse chewing when he makes a total dumbass play --- well, he's not mentally tough enough to play D1.
See - Steve Spurrior, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer and other "great" coaches ---- their relationships with QBs are rocky at times --- they expect leadership and intelligent decision making from their QB --- and they deserve it.

So, your 'solution' is to make accusations you cannot prove and suggest that LSU needs to "cheat more" to compete?
Totally ridiculous.
I don't know what the answer is --- but paying top players to stay and play 1 more season, is NOT the answer, in my opinion.
Yes, I'm "old school" but I'd sure like to see the "system" require a player that signs a scholarship to have to honor it --- with 4 years of commitment.... and keep the NFL away from them until after 4 years in a college program...… I'm realistic too, and know that won't happen --- but it would be best for the sport ---- the schools and coaches --- and in the long run, if that's the way the system is set up --- it will also be best for the players.

re: Do we win another game this year?

There is no game remaining that LSU should even remotely consider a W at this point.
I honestly believe we have ZERO chance vs Bama and less than 50/50 is all remaining games.
But, as they say, you have to play the games to know the outcome.
I do recall one Curley Hallman era game vs highly ranked Bama with a news headline "LSU can win --- Pigs can fly" --- well, the pigs flew.
But that was then and with the way Bama's offense looks and our defense looks --- we will be lucky to hold them under 50 --- which I do not think we will.
Any game we win the rest of the way is fortunate and that's not "sky is falling ney-saying" it's just reality for this season.

There would be more interest in that game than most of the "third tier turd bowls" a 3 or 4, 5 loss LSU would "qualify for.
re: Can we beat SC without Brennan?

If the LSU defense continues to give up over 42 points --- who we have at QB doesn't matter --- we will struggle to win any game, regardless of who we are playing.
It's for sure "one week at a time" --- and as of today --- who, when, and where will we play... 2 SEC games postponed this weekend and rescheduled to Dec. 12 ---- then what --- are the Vandy and UF teams going to fully recover by the following week and start playing again?
I'm afraid this season is going down the tubes for everyone quickly -- but I guess all we can do is wait, hope and see what happens.

What is the story/situation with the 2 commits that LSU holds that have not signed.
Jackson and Johnson, I believe.

the other guy will be the qb.
Yup!
Or Plumlee will be the one to hit the "transfer portal" if he thinks he should be playing -- but until he improves greatly as a passer, he's not going to be OM starting QB under Kiffin.

LSU will struggle to get big time players out of Mississippi.
Why are people saying "Kiffin is a good recruiter"?
I don't think there is supportable evidence of that --- he had 1 year at UT --- and it as his "splash" hire --- maybe that marginally improved recruiting --- he made no big "jump" at USC and he wasn't thought of as a recruiter in his stint at Alabama.
Ole Miss is "maybe" getting back to where they were when Hugh Freeze was successful.... but even that came under a cloud of suspicion of NCAA violations.... I believe it will be more of the same with Kiffin there.
As for other posters talking about Plumlee ---- well, other than the LSU game --- he really wasn't much and in fact, many from Ole Miss say that Luke putting Plumlee at QB when he could not effectively pass was a big part of why Luke was fired.
Unless the other QB transfers, Plumlee probably will not be the starter for Lane Kiffin -- because Lane is going to want to pass the ball and Plumlee is not a passer.
re: What deal would you give Joe Brady....

The contract has been done for a while now at 1.9, the board just has to approve it.
I have no clue if true or false -- but if LSU decides to pay a "passing game coordinator" $1.9 million based on 1 season of tremendous success.... I think it's a risky move.
As other poster stated -- reminds me of the Austin Thomas ordeal. Maybe he was good at his job, but he's not bigger than the program. Neither is Joe Brady.
If O knows that Brady is really the reason the offense is humming along -- then, in private, he and E need to reach an agreement that SE moves out of the OC role and either retires or stays on staff in another capacity. If Brady is instrumental, but SE is still really the guy calling all plays and setting game plans and strategy... then you gotta hang on to Brady, but you need SE and you can't pay Brady anywhere near $1.9 million.
If somebody else will pay him that --- it may come down to you have to let somebody else take that risk.
I'm pretty confident that with a year of film and an entire off-season, a good offensive coach can innovate and copy/evolve what LSU has done this year. But regardless of whether or not it's Joe Brady... LSU will not have Joe Burrow next year -- and that's the real catalyst to the offense... along with CEH and the best group of WR's we've ever had 5 deep.

He’s in his first year of calling plays, and not as the primary. He has the best QB in football. If he can stay on top with Brennan, then I’m sold.
I don't think Brady actually calls any plays.
I do believe he is a big part of the offensive turnaround, sure -- but, I agree --- LSU should do what it needs to do to let him know we want him... but you don't mortgage the farm on one year -- as you say, with the best QB in college football.
If LSU wins it all and SE is ready to retire on top - maybe you take a shot at Joe Brady as OC --- but in my opinion you can't pay him stupid money based on 1 year and really little other track record to go on.
I know lots of people will want to throw piles of money at Joe Brady, but if he's smart and he's as good as people think he is --- take a nice raise, stay at LSU and show you can do it without Joe Burrow... take on responsibility for calling plays and see how it goes in a 1 year Co-OC or "OC in waiting" type situation.... if the offense continues to roll --- promote him to OC and have the deal written up in advance.
I realize that's not how many think --- it's "take the money NOW" approach... but I think their are enough lessons about over-spending too soon that should rule the day.

I agree with you.... and as it turned out.... of the 5, which ones actually produced in college?
Maybe 3 of them, total?

re: For those worried about DL decommits
Posted by LSU91MBA on 11/25/19 at 3:05 pm
Are we "processing" these recent decommits to "make room" for other/better players or players at positions where we have more pressing needs?
With our rise to #1 and a lot of national attention... it has really shown the light on LSU and we had a nearly "fully committed" class --- now we are a few spots open.
Coincidence or just part of what we have to do?

re: Is Back-dooring a National Seed Realistic?
Posted by LSU91MBA on 5/25/19 at 9:47 am
No, but if LSU hosts a Regional, esd hitch seems likeky.... we could host the Supers depending on the bracket...
We would likely be paired against an SEC #2 seed that wins a Regional.

If Bryce was on the roster... Chris Reed probably wouldn't be.
CR contributed a lot more than I believe Bryce could have.

13-2, weather day, Thursday night, day before a holiday, all contribute, but damn our Actual Attendance at baseball games has become pathetic.
Still, you cannot buy a ticket other than SRO for any of the SEC weekend series games.
Sure wish I could go more often.

Not to mention, if they don't have a half time, a lit of people wouldn't know when to leave.

Would you care to take a wager that this "bad" team finishes the season in the Top 3 in the SEC and Top 8 in the country?

Rick Petino says Hi.
While I dont supplier cheating or lies.... I do believe some school will hire Will Wade.... now, can he recruit at a high level without "extra incentives".... I guess time will tell.
History says, schools want to win so bad they gave very short memories about almost any coaching indiscretions.

I didn't say a thing about being without fault... i simply said.
I said intentionally telling lies to your boss because "you re fricked either way" is poor Character.... and I'll stand by that.
No need to argue with you... just my opinion, as yours is your opinion. To each his own.
