Yes. And Kevin Sumlin ran the game plan both times.

Hence why we can't "Act we have been there." We haven't been close.

1) Derek Dooley is a terrible, terrible coach.
2) Things change quickly.

This is a LSU board after all.

Not gonna lie, it's changed my tune, as well. I was cautiously optimistic to start the year (8-4 was my ceiling prediction), and my reasoning behind this was thinking the Sumlin/KK offensive system was more of a bridge between the Big12 style and the SEC style of offense. Basically, I assumed that A&M would adopt the spread because a.) Sumlin's most comfortable with it, and b.) we just didn't have the athletes/depth to run a traditional SEC ground and pound offense (we still don't, fwiw).

But what they've changed my tune on is the efficacy of said offense. Granted, JFF is a transcendent talent at QB, but the system is working and most pleasantly, the defense is MUCH more stout than I assumed coming into the season.

I feel the same way. I told my friends here I thought 7-5, 8-4 would be reasonable, but that was off. Sumlin has taught us much this year.

11) A&M's success has permanently marginalized Arkansas as the new Ole Miss.

I still don't think this system works without a mobile QB.

Obviously, a mobile QB is crucial to this system. JFF just so happened to come along at precisely the right time.

you also have to remember that when we made the move. EVERYBODY said that we would fail miserably for a while, and weve done the exact opposite. so yea there may be a few idiots who are going full retard but most of the ags that i know arent

EVERYONE on here (and all over the country) told us over and over again that we would get skull fricked week in and week out by everyone in the SEC and we just beat Bama in Tuscaloosa and will go 10-2 reg season, barring a colossal frick up and lost two games to tough teams by a combined 8 points and were very close to winning those games.

Excuse us if we celebrate a little.

And i think most would say that our future looks pretty bright...especially since Johnny is just a freshman.

Congrats, youhad one more game under your belt and you beat a team by 3 pts led by a freshman QB in his first game ever who was afraid to throw the ball. Bet you wouldn't like to play us again right now.

I have said as much in this thread. Celebrate all you want, just tell some of your fans to quit coming on here acting like the mid-90s cowboys now play in Kyle Field.

I havent seen much of that at all...for every one poster that does that, there are probably 10 that are a bit more humble and are just thrilled with where our season has gone after having the entire world tell us we'd be perennial doormats in the SEC.

The non-A&M posters on this site that didn't constantly talk sh** about A&M and tell us we wouldnt win an SEC game this year were few and far between. To sum it up, A&M fans are pretty tame compared to the other sh** talkers on this site.

I have done my fair share of Aggie bashing but it's always in good fun. I never said y'all would get destroyed on the field. But c'mon man, my point here is that you guys are excitable and we will likely deal with that for awhile to come. Let's not devolve into an Aggie vs the world mentality here

In fact, another thing we have learned is that teams can come into our conference and do quite well from the get go. Specifically, some can and some can't and it depends entirely on the context.
