... at the bottom of a "slippery slope."
This is only going to get uglier and ultimately will badly tarnish the once renowned SEC.

The bottom line here is that the SEC has left itself wide open for future revelations about this entire tawdry matter.
And, any and all of such revelations, which will inevitably come to light, will only serve to reflect horribly on the SEC. Pretending that a $200,000 payoff is irrelevant is inherently disreputable.
It also pains and sickens me that LSU will suffer for the SEC's avarice.

They owe Dareus an apology for having to sit two games.

Interesting. I always thought it was to find the truth and apply applicable rules.

AJ Green sells his jersey, which one can cynically point out how SEC got no money off of deal, sits 4 games. This thug is shopped for $200k, which no one disputes, and sits for 12 hours 4 days before the game. You can't make this shot up. Hypocrisy.

It's not just Camgate, it's Slivegate (or Slimegate if you prefer). Slive can't hope for anything but for Cam to be cleared. Slive is part and parcel of the cover-up. In this way, the SEC lacks institutional control. Slive has got to go and the SEC offices need to be moved out of Birmingham.

The thing about it is if he's so sure this needs to be addressed then why didn't he use the latitude given by the SEC bylaws to to enforce the spirit of the rules?
Because Slive is a piece of shite waiting on a payday.
He's a typical lawyer who thinks the problem he created needs to be fixed with another rule.
That's exactly why Washington DC is so f'd up.

Slightly slouching, Slive slickly slams slights slung slowly...
But, it won't matter in the long run. This is only going to hurt the SEC very badly. In fact, it already has.

That's the committee investigating violations. Two completely separate entities that apparently don't have any communication with each other. The ruling was solely based on Auburn's report of what the facts were.
Of course Auburn says they declared him ineligible the minute these improprieties were discovered even though that happened a week after Cecil admitted this in the press, but that's for the infractions committee to determine.

Slive's a dirt bag. We've known that for a while now, he just keeps proving it over and over again.

quote:I wonder if AJ Green's dad had sold his jersey without his knowledge, if he would have been punished. Better yet, I wonder if AJ Green's dad had put his jersey on ebay but never got a bid, if AJ Green would have gotten in trouble. If you don't like the ruling fine, but let's not compare dis-similar situations and pretend they are the same. One received extra benefits (minor infraction IMO fwiw), the other did not (as far as we know right now).

I agree that this is all a joke
This kind of changes the subject but what about Bruce Pearl at Tenn. Didnt he get caught redhanded cheating? And he is only suspended for half a conf season..... I cant beleive he has a job. What kind of parent sends their kid to play for that guy.

Slive is making a joke of the SEC with his lack of action.

Tell ya what...
Go get caught soliciting an undercover officer for sex...watch as you get arrested before the officer ever says "that sounds great...I agree".
...when you get before the judge give that "Their was never an agreement" defense a whirl. See how that works for ya.
Everywhere else that you can find ANYTHING that would even come close to having correlation with this anywhere...the act of ASKING for something illegal implies agreement on your part. The lack of a willing partner is never a defense.
It's a DUMB standard and Slive knows it.

Is Slime on a yearly contract? Can he be voted out by all the other SEC members? Am living in Dallas area and hearing the SEC ripped daily on local media. This is a terrible black mark on the SEC and everyone in the SEC just talks shite and does nothing about it.
