I think most LsU fans don’t really comprehend how small Perkins is for the position they want him to play.

He is 6 ft 200-215 lbs. he runs like a deer.

He’s a strong safety.

We want him to pash rush but smart teams can scheme him into coverage.

The good news is that Perkins prolly needs us as much as we need him. He needs game film of him playing a viable NFL position. We need his athleticism at star.

Win win.

PI is called all the time…rightly and wrongly.

It is FAR FAR FAR worse that the crew clearly reviewed and changed a call that was made on the field that is by the rules not a reviewable call.

It sucks…but you can screw up a judgement call. It happens all the time. You cannot break the rules.

Getting it right in the end does not matter.

I’d do two things to start with.
1. Have a defined number of plays (let’s say 5) that the player who goes down on the field has to miss before they can return if you go down on the field with an injury. This would encourage teams to teach differently. If you are hurt and it’s not your legs and you can get off the field…get off the field. If you are hurt so bad you can’t get off the field…it should take longer than 5 plays to evaluate that anyway.

2. If there is video evidence that a player was signaled down by the coaching staff to delay the game. That player misses the next conference game.

Sting has been great since they stopped asking him to be a cover 2 corner. SMH

Reality:

Kalen DeBoer is a huge risk for Bama whose Mikey outcome is 5 years and fired.

…and he is by far the best hire available to them and a total slam dunk from the Bama perspective.

No big name coach was going to leave a big pocket established program to come replace Saban at Bama. DeBoer is by all accounts a fantastic coach…who is two 3 loss seasons at Washington from never having this kind of opportunity again.

What he isn’t is Nick Saban. He’s not the program builder he is. He’s not the recruiter he is. He’s not on his level in any way. Because NOBODY IS. Even if he is fantastic…he’s still gonna not compare.

It has nothing to do with Kalen DeBoer. You start with the folks who think the risk of following Saban is worth it. He’s the top of that list.

But when your team has been otherworldly extraordinary for 15 yrs…can the fan base live with just really great?

I think the answer is gonna be No and we get to watch.

Or if they say No

I don’t think Milroe will make it thru the season as the starting QB next year.

The entire gambling industry is based on people being horrible at the eye test.

I think it’s possible or we see a “LSUs dominating young OL” narrative begin to take shape next season. I think it’s very possible an OL with:
LT - Campbell
LG - Bradford/Frazier
C - Delly/ Turner/Martinez
RG- Jones/Frazier
RT - Heard

Is dominant and deep.

Is he the guy that signed early but didn’t tell us he did?

So he was signed but still being recruited.

That’s a jerk move but I blame the system and the school more than anything. Should be required to post every LOI you have received publicly. Should be a rule that you must inform other schools that call you that you have signed an LOI or it makes you ineligible.

Some shenanigans are fair game but it should all end when pen hits paper forms get sent.
