What are the most important games in SEC history? What are the most important games in your schools history?
For Alabama, number one has to be the 1926 Rose Bowl. Alabama beat Washington to win their first national championship. But more importantly it changed the perception of Southern football teams.
What are some other games that resonated through history?

UGA defeating mighty Yale in 1929 in the official dedication of Sanford Stadium
It was significant for many reasons, but getting a traditional northern powerhouse to travel to Dixie was huge, winning 15-0 despite being heavy underdogs was also huge

State beat Army 13-7 in West Point. In those days Army was a very good program. That year Pitt was the only other team to beat them they had a 6-6 tie against Notre Dame.

No doubt brother, but C6H0 happened before and on Yankee turf. Still may be the greatest upset of all time in college football.

2017 Iron Bowl.
If Gus doesn’t win the West, he likely ends up at Arkansas the next year and we don’t end up with Chad Morris and Titboss with multiple 2-10 (0-8) seasons between those two coaches.
Although I never wanted Gus here at the time, we definitely wouldn’t be in as bad a spot as we are now if we had gotten him.

USC vs Oregon St 2006, a lot of you young bucks born in the 90s or after don’t realize sec bias in football is a recent trend. Florida whooping osu in the natty was what made national media take notice of the sec. It also kicked of a historic run for sec football. A lot of benefit of the doubt was awarded to the sec in the bcs era bc of osu/lsu back to backing titles. None of it happens if Oregon st didn’t upset usc at the end of 2006 season.

The Oregon St game isn’t what cost USC, it was the season ending loss to UCLA. USC was 10-1 and ranked 2nd headed into the final week. Oregon State loss happened in late October.

You’re thinking of 83. 85 was when Van Tiffin beat us with a long field goal.
