Yardcocks with a chance to sweep?

Rooting for Carolina to pull a Florida and make the post season this year.

State started 7-2 and has now lost four in a row, all at home. And two of those are Valincius starts.
Desperately need to get it together and win these next two games, or else the conversation may shift from “are they a Top 8 seed” to “will they be in the Hattiesburg Regional or the Atlanta Regional”? Barring a huge run the next few weeks,

Grats on the sweep, Bama.

quote:Kinda crazy what just firing Paul did for them. In all actuality they should have taken the series against us too if not for a freak play with 2 outs in the 9th. They were a completely different team the moment he was no longer the coach.

IF..
Georgia wins series 2-1
Texas wins series 2-1
OU wins series 2-1
Arkansas sweeps
Ole Miss wins series 2-1
Tennessee sweeps
Auburns wins series 2-1
12 teams will be within 1 game of each other for 3rd-14th place
Alabama 8-7
Arkansas 8-7
Auburn 8-7
Florida 8-7
A&M 8-7
Kentucky 7-8
LSU 7-8
Ole Miss 7-8
Miss State 7-8
Oklahoma 7-8
Tennessee 7-8
Vanderbilt 7-8
Not gonna happen as Texas and Georgia might get swept among other things, but it’s crazy how competitive this league is top to bottom.. even Mizzou and SC

It seems like there is a group of six tightly clustered, then a group of eight tightly clustered, then two teams at the bottom.
That could change, obviously. But that’s what it seems.

We’re calling dibs on the Hattiesburg region. Y’all or LSU can have Atlanta.

first chance for Carolina to sweep a SEC series since SEC weekend #2 of 2024 when the Gamecocks swept #3 Vanderbilt at Founders -
in the 22 SEC weekends since - USC has been swept 9 times and won just 4 conference series -
2024 Mark Kingston - at Ole Miss (1-2) - vs Van (3-0) - at Bama (1-2) - vs A&M (1-2) - at UF (2-1) - vs Ark (1-2) - vs UK (2-1) - at Miz (2-1) - vs UGA (0-3) - vs Tenn (0-3)
2025 Paul Mainieri - vs OU (1-2) - at Ark (0-3) - vs Tenn (0-3) - at MSU (1-2) - at A&M (0-3) - vs Ole Miss (2-1) - at UK (1-2) - vs UF (0-3) - at Aub (0-3) - vs LSU (1-2)
2026 PM & M Lee - at UF (0-3) - vs Ark (1-2) - at UGA (0-3) - vs Tex (1-2) -
probably not coincidentally the last road series USC won was at Missouri 2024 - PM won his lone SEC series the 6th SEC weekend of 2025 against Ole Miss - Pawpaw was swept in 6 of his 11 full SEC weekends -

I don't think Georgia is going to get swept at home, but I wouldn't be shocked if we lose the series. Florida is the hottest team in the country right now.

Is it football season yet. Not sure any team in the SEC has wasted more money on their 2026 roster than my Tigers.
When LSU MBB in 2026 now more exciting... we have problems.

We just lost a series to Ole Miss in Gainesville last weekend. We aren’t hot, we are schizophrenic.

I’m not ready to say the ship has sailed yet. There’s a world where they win the next two, take care of SC and LSU, and are 13-8 and 14-7 going into May. That would be very much Top 8 contender territory.
But they need to get it going ASAP.
