If tweet fails to load, click here. Now this geriatric retard is losing to teams that went 9-44 last year and have never beaten a power5 team

CPM has a short shelf life of winning

It’s sad to see what has become of South Carolina baseball. Founders Park is a special place and ~15 years ago they were far and away the premier program in all of college baseball. Watching Coastal and ECU pass them by has added a lot of salt to their numerous wounds as well I’d think.

Yes we all thought it was crazy, both for Mainieri to want to coach again and that any team, much less a program like USC, would want to hire him. But here we are.
When a 64 year old says this in 2021, why would you hire him 3 years later?
quote:
“I went to see another surgeon down here and I ended up having another surgery and it helped some as well but I’ve just been having this terrible neck pain for almost three years now and it’s kind of morphed into these headaches,” Mainieri said. I just have not felt well for almost three years now. It affects my sleeping and how I feel during the day.”
“Friends, being very honest with me, have told me, ‘man you look awful.’ I just haven’t felt myself for the last couple of years and I think it’s really affected the way I’ve been able to coach because as a coach, I think that one of my greatest strengths has been to be very engaged with the players.
“I just haven’t been able to do that as much the last couple of years. Consequently, I just don’t feel like I’ve been the same coach. I just don’t feel like I’ve been carrying my weight.”
“I reached out to (athletic director) Scott (Woodward),” Mainieri said. “I told him I hadn’t been feeling well and told him I felt that maybe the program would be better served it somebody else was leading it and that hurt to say that because I love coaching and I love doing what I’m been doing for 39 years."
