Morning. I saw an article saying that Pruitt will be an analyst at Alabama after the recent court ruling.

Don’t recall seeing anything here. Can someone confirm/deny?

Pruitt will be co-head coach with DeBoer. Money will be distributed in Taco Casa bags.

CKW is running a 3-4 Under Front the majority of the time now. What they are doing in the “Box”/ Front-7 (6 in reality) is very similar to the 2010-2018 alignment. So, Pruitt would mesh there very well imo.

In order be an effective coach you have to believe in the scheme obviously.
The difference is in the play of the Secondary. Pruitt’s Secondary (Saban’s) is notoriously much more complicated and required a couple of seasons even for very talented players to get acclimated to it, whereas the Secondary now is much different (and much less complicated) and just as efficient (better in a lot of ways).

Pruitt is a LB Coach by trade, and would fit in great (philosophically) with the Front-6, but the Secondary is not compatible.

He is also a very strong personality (see confrontations with coaches while on UGA’s staff), so I’m not sure how well that would mesh with coaches he has zero ties to.

With that being said, I would still love to have him.

As of early 2026, former Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt is working as a defensive analyst at Jacksonville State University after his NCAA show-cause order was lifted in December 2025, allowing him to return to college football in a limited capacity, though he previously coached high school football at his alma mater, Plainview High School. While initially coaching high school, he now serves as an analyst, with speculation about his potential return to a full-time coaching role due to his respected defensive background.

Pruitt one of the best talent evaluators Bama has ever had. Its a talent/skill same as any other, and Pruitt is one of the best.

Also, having a "strong personality" in the locker room would be very beneficial for this team. Currently there is a void.

I meant “strong personality” as in the fact he can be hard for other assistants (and even HC’s) to get along with at times and has a bit of a reputation for that (see showing up intoxicated on Mark Richt’s front lawn threatening to beat his a**, although it might have been justified idk).

Again, I loved Coach Pruitt’s time at Alabama, and I’m pretty sure so did every Bama fan. I’m just trying to be realistic about him actually being a part of the staff…so much of coaching is connections and relationships, and as far as I know anyways, I can’t find any ties to the staff at all. Just seems highly unlikely imo.

Again, I would love to have him and I’m sure most any fan would.

I would let him coach the OL. It’s not his area, but guys would move like their hair is on fire.

I’m good with that, will close out some NIL deals if there are a couple of crunchy tacos (hot) and some beefy nachos included . . .

I think the OLine has enough problems without shoehorning a defensive guy into the role, ala Belichick and Matt Patricia.

If he’s in Jacksonville, money will be distributed in Coop de Ville bags… that or the Rocket.

Deboer isn't man enough to have a 'Saban' mindset within his staff. I doubt Deboer even seeks Saban's input on anything, even though Saban is on staff to do so.

I get why the Pruitt and the Stoutlands and such all are talked about on message boards, but the folks on here(not you Magilla, I know you understand this) are only setting themselves up for disappointment.

Deboer is not going to start bringing in Saban assistants. Those aren’t the coaches he knows and in a lot of instances don’t fit his system. He also isn’t going to do anything to deepen the overwhelming comparisons he already has to deal with.

He isn’t Saban. He can’t be Saban. He can only succeed or fail as who his is as a coach.

I would much rather have Stoutland than Pruitt.
