Indiana will revert to the mean

Cignetti is an excellent coach and Mendoza is one of the more impressive kids I have seen but this team is a product of timing w the advent of big money NIL.
They will be good but are currently benefiting from a mismatch in the timing of Big NIL and Cignetti’s arrival.
Eventually, they will need to be either magnitudes better at spotting and winning top level, older portal Talent OR play the same recruiting game as the big boys…ie $50mm rosters.
If CC is as good as everyone thinks he may yet pull it off but his approach is common knowledge now and he’s still benefiting from his underrated JMU defections among others.
I’m going out on a limb and predicting they will be a 3-4 loss team next year.

A team losing their QB, core group of guys from two stellar seasons, and the age of transfers might drop off the season after an NC appearance?
You don’t say…

Mendoza is a gem that took the team to the next level but they went 11-1 without him in 2024. Cignetti will always have them in contention for the Big Ten.

People said the same thing last year.
I think with the portal era you’re going to see a lot more teams flare up like this

What part of this post made you think of LSU?
One team is playing for a title. The other went 7-6. Damn at the stretch to associate LSU.
Well done.
I guess

Lol.
Cignetti grabbed Josh Hoover from TCU.
They'll be fine.
It's all scheme

Doubt they fall like UGA who has t won a playoff game in 4 years or shitty LSU who hasn’t won shite in over 6 years

You doubt the money that is in the IU alumni base. They are the largest in the country and have Mark Cuban. They will have no problem shelling out money from here on out if they want to.
Thing is, Cig gets who he wants. He doesn’t want these 5 star mercenaries who are only in it for the bag. He wants older dogs willing to be coached

To any Indiana supporter, what difference does next year make? Really who gives a shite?
It’s all about tonight.

At this point I don't care where Indiana is in recruiting or portal rankings, I'm just going to assume Cignetti is getting everyone he wants for his system and it will work. This is the most impressive job of coaching in college football history.

Todd Graves is worth 4x Mark Cuban. At a certain point it’s not about the most billions. Otherwise, why didn’t UT/TT/Ass2Mouth offer all the top players $50MM each?
There’s not enough 24 yr old gems for CC to find. Everybody is hunting for them now.

I opened tSECrant fully expecting to see LSU fans throwing shade at Indiana.
I would bet a grand right now that no frickin way does Indiana lose 4 games next year. Are you frickin retarded?

One of two things will happen:
1. Other teams will copy this strategy enough that it doesn’t give Indiana an advantage anymore
Or
2. Hard eligibility rules will come about so they can’t have 20ish 6th and 7th year players on their roster.
The first one is already in motion. The second will happen in the next couple of years.

oh just fuk off simpleton. You think I am not pulling for Indiana just to promote some narrative of GOAT 2019 LSU? get a grip. Mendoza is the biggest breath of fresh air I have seen in years. These guys are awesome. It will not continue though. I’ll ban bet on 3 indiana losses next year.

They’ll simply look for more 5th and 6th year seniors in the portal who will fill missing gaps.
There’s no such thing as a “rebuild” anymore. But Mendoza is one of a kind and their next QB won’t be as dynamic as him.
