Big fan of Simmons to Mizzou

It may very well not work out. That said I think injuries to the QB room changed mizzous offense last year. It may have never been great in the passing game and I could be wrong. I think the injury to Horn and fear of essentially a HS senior (playing wise due to a lost season) having to play if the starter got hurt, scared the coaching staff. Even think we saw it when Zoellers did play. He's far from Lamar Jackaon but hes also no statue.
Anyway the read option with Simmons and Rpo off our outside zone scheme could be deadly.
I could be dead wrong and I doubt mizzou shifts to this. But with an elite run game and a dual threat QB once you make it past your forty youre in four down territory. Other teams defenses won't be able to drop seven or eight on 3rd and 7 if you know a team can and probably will go for it on fourth down minus your defense making a negative play for the offense.

When Missouri plays in Oxford in October he will get a standing ovation if announced as the starting QB
I'd like to be the first to welcome you to Dante's 8th Circle of Hell

Simmons is athletic enough to move the pocket and pick up yardage when he wants to but I don't know if you want to base the offense around his running ability. He has a howitzer attached to his left shoulder though. The big thing for Mizzou/Simmons will be protecting him. He was very bad under pressure this year in his limited experience.

Simmons has an elite arm, and he has been nothing but a gracious teammate despite Chambliss moving up as the starting QB. I hope he’s a huge success for Missouri.

He won't be any good without Lane.

I hope he balls the frick out. Just hope he has an outlier game against us and throws 8 picks…. But finishes the year with only 8 picks

We SEC poors will take what we can get.
Just hoping he has it between the ears. Intelligent QB play seems hard to come by. Way too much one read and take off lmho.

He’s extraordinarily intelligent. He had a bachelor’s degree when he was 19.

Good take for Mizzou, Simmons seems like the sort of QB Kiffin would turn into an all-star

If that means he can make 3 reads in 3 seconds and throw it to where a receiver will be, then I'm all in.

How he did with Lane this year:
45/75
744 yards
4 TDs
5 INTs
Fantastic kid though - wish him nothing but success.

One would think that withe rushing attack at Missouri, it's a QB's dream.
He should face one on one coverage a great deal as they stack the box to stop Hardy.

Drink will run him on a QB draw empty bag field on 3rd and 12 and injure him before the 3rd quarter of week 1.

I am very proud of you. Take everything in bc when your coach retires/leaves its back to thr basement for you. The next coach never gets to this level of success when replacing them. You could have a hot shot assistant in waiting to step in and he still won't be good enough. So then you'll go over spend and over compensate for someone "better" and it may be emeaculate but if it's not then its back to worst program in ncaa history status. See Nebraska for evidence

It won’t be.
The SEC’s leading rusher and 10th leading rusher return for next year.

Didn't Simmons home school and is taking joke degree programs. I think I heard that he is some real high IQ guy is nonsense. He seems like he could be a good QB though.

Simmons is a measurable upgrade over Pribula/Zollars …. no other way to say it. Losing Pribula regulated Mizzou to a one-dimensional offense for the 2nd half of the season.
Too bad Horn hasn’t worked out. Kid has remained injured/degraded his entire college career. I watched him a lot in HS and was one helluva player.
….. Better baseball player than football, IMO.

I believe he will be a perfect fit at Mizzou. He will get a good O Line and our Offense is designed perfectly for the way he plays. Looking forward to returning to Oxford next year. Had a great time last visit. Fans were awesome.
On a much more important matter...I am available for appearances in The Grove.

Simmons isn't much of a runner - he's more of a pocket guy. Reminds me of Penix/Tua (ironic they are both lefty) that they have some speed and can run but most of the time choose not to.
The upside is definitely there he just needs reps and lots of them. He needs an Arch Manning esque trial by fire season to work out the growing pains.
