September is manageable.
October is brutal.
November should be nice.

Is Ole Miss always a Halloween occasion? Seems like it.

At least mid to late October at any rate it seems like. I remember the 2021 game was definitely at Halloween though.

Late Labor Day next year so only 1 BYE during the season.

Here recently it seems like it.
In the late 90s/early 2000s they seemed to be our conference opener. I am 99.9 percent sure we played them 9/8/2001 in JHS.

Looks like a late 80s schedule.

Why did the second bye week go away?

It depends on how the calendar falls for Labor Day.

Correct - I remember buying a new car in 1996 on Labor Day Saturday and watching the first half in the lounge while they worked on paperwork. At some point it did move to around Halloween. Us old folks however always remember Halloween as Florida game

I remember watching Auburn Vs Ole Miss in 2010 while mother in law was greeting trick or treaters. There was a temporary blackout on Direct TV also.
Hell I remember being in my youth group at church on a literal hayride listening to Ben Obamanu with tDrop of all drops.

Yea, they have been a pretty regular Halloween week (or at least right on either side of it) game for a while. The 2010 game was a blast. Friend and I went, dressed up for the game and then hit Oxford after the win for halloween bar festivities. Good times.

That’s right.
2025 had early Labor Day and late Thanksgiving.
Labor Day 9/1/25
Thanksgiving 11/27/25
2026:
Labor Day 9/7/25
Thanksgiving 11/26/25
There is a week difference between the two years. Also, there will not be a 2 BYE year again until 2030, assuming schedules don’t drastically change.

In 93 (I think) we opened the season with them on a Thursday night.

I agree.
I am over the moon about this schedule.
No Texas.
No Texas A&M.
No Oklahoma.
No South Carolina.
No Mizzou.
If we could swap Arkansas for Kentucky - it would be a dream.
