It's not fair to FSU if the committee doesn't punish Ole Miss

Ole Miss fans will tell you that not having Kiffin will be an advantage.

He's an albatross around their neck.

No matter what happens to Bama or Texas, they won’t be screwed nearly as badly as FSU was in 2023.

Punish them for what?

For LSU stealing their coach.

Lane leaving actually fires Ole Miss up more.

FSU got dog raped by UGA that year.

FSU played multiple games with the backup QB against lesser competition and were clearly not a top4 team. In the 4 team playoff era, it was about 4 best teams.

Ole Miss only lost their HC, none of the players and haven't played any games without them that demonstrate they aren't still a capable team. The importance you put on Lane Kiffin is just your own biases.

In 2023, FSU was punished by dropping 2 spots in the playoff poll, a similar move wouldn’t be surprising. It also wouldn’t be fair for Ole Miss to be punished more than what FSU was.

On the other hand, every one and their brother outside of Alabama and Texas criticized this. So, it’s conceivable for the committee to come out and say we’re not going to make the same mistake twice.

FSU played 2 games with their backup QB and everyone could see they were trash with him.

There's no data point on Ole Miss without Lane - could we worse, could be the same.

FSU was punished because everyone with eyes could see they sucked. They would be punishing OM purely off the unknown

So if LSU is positioned for the playoffs and Alabama hires their coach, you would be ok with being left out.

Got it.

According to ESPN, Hunter Yurachek said Lane’s departure could impact the committee’s assessment of OM.

FSU had so many opt outs after they got fricked, that game doesn't count. FSU got fricked for sure!

Ole Miss has been distracted by the Kiffin drama for at least 6 weeks, and has still performed at a high level. It’s reasonable to expect them to still perform at a high level if the only difference in the staff is the head coach.

This. The committee will drop Ole Miss, but probably only 1-2 spots.

I don't get this.

It isn't enough that LSU took the Ole Miss coach. They have to meet out some additional punishment for having done so?

WTF did Ole Miss ever do to LSU?

OP is some small deek energy, chicken shite arse clown.

Umm, I think he said just the opposite. Something to the effect that they had no data on what effect the coaching change might have.

FFS

FSU's rankings

Week 9 #4
Week 10 #4
Week 11 #4
Week 12 #5
Week 13 #4
Final #5

I sarcastically support the committee dropping Ole Miss the exact same 1 spot from #7 to #8..... so they still get a home game and end up playing #9 instead of #10

Who gives a shite with a 12 team playoff when they are comfortably already in.

Yeah, FSU really did nothing at all to make the committee regret that decision.

Of course it was okay then because Alabama took the spot. Now it’s bad
