Todd McShay also said Kiffin has the opportunity to do at LSU what Saban did at Bama

Paul Finebaum thinks Woodward has hit the home run of all home runs with Brian Kelly.
“Another thing about this is Scott Woodward has been able to make people forget that he hired Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M,” said Finebaum. “But by hiring Brian Kelly – and he also wanted to bring Jimbo to LSU – but nobody’s going to criticize Scott Woodward, who has hit the home run of all home runs by bringing Brian Kelly to the Bayou.

Didn’t we get this song and dance for the Kelley hire?

Is that the same savant that said Arch Manning was winning a Heisman?

They are turning him into the Arch Manning of coaches. Enormous pressure to win a NC or be the greatest failure of all time.

Seems like a great culture fit. The one thing I worry about Kiffin (same thing I worry about with Sark even though he does do a little more of it), is the physicality of their offense. Lane much like Sark is very finesse focused offense, and from what I have seen those don't win championships. To Sarks credit he has been trying more and more to establish a physical mentality, but I don't think Lane has yet.
Another aspect that should be watched is if Baker takes the Tulane job. Will Lane be able to hire a competent DC?
Overall I think Lane can be a great hire, but he needs to overcome a few hurdles.

Lane does have the talent, institutional & booster backing to make it happen though. It will be interesting to watch.

Really wild prediction for a coach that has never won any kind of championship at a power 5 school before.

F-baum said exactly the same thing about BK.

If Lane does win a national championship he is going to make Coach O’s manwhoring look amateur. Lane may just disappear completely for a few months.

Ruh roh. He said the same thing about Mullen when moving to FL.

Doubtful..... folks will tire of him and his lies pretty quick.... just watch him burn it to the ground.

Any parent who would not vehemently insist that their son not go play for Kiffin at LSU should be deeply ashamed. Period.
