Kind of bad considering Saban took over a dumpster fire and DeBoer took over a playoff team.

Saban’s Bama team looked terrifying in 2008. Everyone could see where the program was heading.
Deboer, while still good, does not have Bama intimidating anyone even with the stacked cupboard.
But the numbers are the same, I guess.

Teams feared Saban. I’m not sure the same can be said about Kalen

The Alabama that DeBoer inherited in 2024 is nothing like the Alabama that Saban inherited in 2007. It was an absolute dumpster fire.

Damn, and thats WITH inheriting Sabans roster.
Yikes

One followed a period of historic decline at Bama, the other followed Saban.

19-6 for both sounds the same but
Coach #1: 7-6 then 12-0
Coach#2: 9-4 then 10-2
First one also took over a rebuild in year one and the second took over arguably the most talented roster in the conference if not the country

Pretty sure Les had a better record than Saban after 25 games.

Bama wasn’t everyone’s Super Bowl in 2007 or 2008. No one rushed the field when they beat Bama back then.

Saban inherited a dumpster fire. Not the same

Yes and they both inherited the exact same situations talent wise. What a pointless and moronic thread. On par for the OP.

He did lose 30+ players to the portal when Saban retired. Roster wasn't as stacked as everyone thinks.

People forget that. People also forget Saban had some very close calls against bad opponents in his last season. DeBoer has now taken two different P5 teams to conference championship games.

The team Saban inherited and the team DeBoer inherited aren’t even remotely close

Chizik & Bowden both had better records at Auburn after 25 games. Beat two coaches ever in the state of Alabama

BUT only one of them inherited Saban’s team.

When 30+ players transferred after Saban retired you were one of the legion of LSU fans that said the Alabama program would be devastated. But you’ve never been savvy about the game. You’re just a common troll

Clearly took over similar situations
