2011 LSU knew 9-6 was a fluke and they would get curb stomped in the rematch

It's tough to sweep a very good team.
Glad we get to share the 2011 national championship.

Alabama needs to send Iowa State a fruit basket for allowing the rematch.

The first halves of the two games were very similar w the only difference being the first game Bama missed FGs and in the 2nd Bama made them.

Different refs. The 9-6 refs handed LSU the game on a silver platter

Gotta make it too big to rig!

What still amazes me is in 8 quarters and 1 OT only 1 TD was scored between both teams. Those defenses were stout

Very FIRST player in college football history to be flagged for TAUNTING.

No, the LSU defense picked off 2 passes and blocked a FG. We blocked another FG in the natty but forced 0 turnovers. The only way we were gonna win a rematch was with a defensive or special teams TD.

Les Miles was one the verge of legitimacy. He wanted to prove he could best Saban, without the Mad-hatter tricks... with the 'any team, anytime'.
That game, in LSU's back yard, was one of our greatest memories, ever. Honey badger was neutered, LSU's offense was made to look anemic.
Glorious.

Bless your heart. Do you have a little Auburn in you, perchance?

I’ll be the first to admit, I knew we got lucky first time around and really didn’t wanna have to see yall again. Especially if yall had a month to prepare

This is the key.
Also, no one wants to play the game of the century twice. Bama fans can say whatever they want in retrospect, before the game they didn’t want to either. They lost at home.
Did they deserve to be there? Eh, maybe, but probably not. That championship was only slightly more convincing than whatever we decide to call 2020 a decade from now (the one where Saban looked and sounded utterly embarrassed in the post game interview to hoist the NC trophy), but still much less impressive than the other legitimate 4 championships Saban earned at Bama.

I know we lost, but that was an intense game. A great game, tbh.

He has had some Auburn in him. And some Texas A&M. Several random dudes at Love’s. A good bit of Tulane. Definitely lots of LSU.
