Going to be a lot of openings this year. Who, if anyone, do we think might be poached?

Unfortunately I expect that team to be the barn.

Unfortunately with success comes losing coaches. It plagued us badly under Saban.

Having coaches so good other people want to steal them is a "first world problem" of successful programs.

The athletic department just needs to be on top of things and doing their best to keep everyone who is doing a great job.

Out of all the assistants, Grubb is the only one that has impressed me. The rest are average at best. Some are absolutely terrible Wommack, Freddie Roach and Chris Kapilovic need to be "invited to leave" at the end of the year.

With the offensive line and all these former 4 and 5 star recruits, you cannot tell me that all or most of them are mediocre or average. It HAS to be the coaching for them to be so erratic and inconsistent.

I don't see grubb going to our rival. Especially with his relationship with Deboer. What does he make at Bama? I wouldn't care if he made 2 mil a year to keep him. Who knows he may not have aspirations of head coach. I think if he leaves it will be for Washington or West Coast school.

Linguist and Shep are both excellent coaches. I imagine someone will come calling soon to offer Shep an OC role.

i dont see it this year. Grubbs wont make a lateral move in college, and wont get offered an NFL OC position after his Seattle year. I think he is smart enough to wait a couple of years at BAMA and get a decent HC job somewhere.

We may ask some coaches to "explore" their options

If and when Fresno opens up, I can see Grubb getting the call.

Is that something Grubb would want? A G6 job this day in age in a mashed together conference isn’t a better job to a lot of people than Alabama’s OC job.

We will probably lose the ones we want to keep.

And keep the ones we want gone.

Problem is, we are ranked top 20 in defense. Take away FSU, and we're even higher. He ain't going anywhere.

That's a pretty good problem to have.

It is, look at Deboer. He did 2 years there then went to Washington. You could do worse than Fresno.

The CFB landscape has dramatically changed in those 3-4 years.

I'm not really worried about losing any coaches.

My only fear of losing Grubb would be if he goes to be HC of an SEC program and we have to directly compete with him. Otherwise, I think we'll be fine.

Not everyone wants to be a head coach.

Why would it be a west coast school? I see that a lot. I know he said he liked Washington, but he’s from Iowa and spent a good portion of his career and life in the Midwest.

I can see him waiting out the right spot. Florida may make a run at him, they’ve had a very quiet search so far.

Jeremy Pruitt has been cleared for an analyst position. If we don’t try to find a place for him somewhere in Tuscaloosa next year, it will be a royal frickup. No one on the defensive staff is getting poached though.
