re: It's my fault we didn't win by 30

I thought it was my fault for watching on FUBO for the first time.

Glad to know it wasn't.
"I am not sure the current fanbase could survive the 2008 and 2009 offense."

Or...God forbid...the 1992 offense.

The worst was the Southern Miss game...we won 17-10. Never would have dreamed that we would go undefeated and win the championship.

Diego Pavia "Late Hit" Out of Bounds

Posted by 87Grad on 11/2/25 at 7:45 am
During the Texas/ Vandy game, Pavia took off and was tackled on the sideline. When the play continued out of bounds for several yards, the announcers (McElroy and Sean McDonough) were outraged by the play and kept saying how that was a 15-yard penalty against Texas.

I watched it, and I saw Pavia grab the Texas defender's jersey and pull him out of bounds with him and on top of him.

This was so obvious, and the announcers never even mentioned it. I googled it, and I also saw no commentary about this.

Am I crazy? Here's the link: Vandy Texas- Pavia's Run

I'm sure others have mentioned it, although I can't seem to find it, but I just wanted to get your guys' take.

Smart, tricky play by Pavia, but...man...I just don't like that guy.
That's a pretty good problem to have.

re: Alright Nerds YouTube TV alt

For those of us who don't really want to fool around with techie devices or newish technology, and who want to have unlimited DVR ("record all Alabama football/ basketball games" and walk away), what is the best option?

Seems like FUBO is about the same price as YouTube TV, with unlimited DVR. I've never used it...any downsides, other than cost?

I did look briefly at the VSee box, but I don't think DVR is a thing for that.

re: My take on last night-Tennessee

Posted by 87Grad on 10/19/25 at 7:42 am to
McDonough actually stood up for Bama on the pass that the ESPN rules official said was a drop by Ryan Williams.

I never saw it hit the ground, and I'm glad that McDonough didn't go along with their retired official.

He also pointed out obvious holding by Tennessee when they had the ball close to our goal line.

Overall, I didn't notice any significant bias one way or the other.

Close scores will likely continue to be the norm.

I think it's important to remember that comparing current results to the days before the transfer portal and NIL is a faulty comparison.

Final scores should and will be closer in the league now, with far fewer blow-outs.
I agree with you that we go for it if he doesn't make it.

If the Georgia tackler had made the play when he first made contact, Yeldon would have been around 3 yards short. So, there's no guarantee we get that first down on 4th and 3.

Anyhow...lots of speculation, but, like you said, Yeldon got those tough yards, and that very well could have made the difference in the SEC Championship Game, and, of course, the National Championship.
In my opinion, the most underappreciated play in the Saban era is the one that took place on the play before McCarron's 45 yard touchdown pass to Cooper in the 2012 SEC Championship Game. It was a 3rd and 5, and if we didn't get this first down, that long pass likely doesn't happen. If the long pass play doesn't happen, Georgia likely wins, and we don't win the National Championship against Notre Dame...Georgia does instead.

Yeldon made this first down happen through sheer strength and will power:

Yeldon's Crucial Run

Huge, huge play, and I never hear it mentioned.

Roll Tide!
Thank you for sharing Kerry's inspirational words.

I pray for peace, comfort, and strength for Kerry and his wife.

Anyone have access to this and can give a summary?...

Don't like the looks of it.
"Where is TJ Yeldon today?"

I've got to stand up for Yeldon here. Like Trent Richardson, he was an outstanding college running back, who just didn't thrive in the NFL.

I believe the most undervalued factor in all such discussion is the happiness of the wife.

Happy wife, happy coach's life, and he hangs around a while.
Kirk Herbstreit correctly predicted the dynasty that Saban and Alabama were embarking on during the Clemson broadcast.

It was music to my ears, since everyone else was saying that Saban would be around for just a couple of years, and that Bama would never be a serious contender again.

I can agree with that.

I also noticed that Lane took responsibility for his childishness, and that's a sign that he has grown up some. But, I will say that he still comes off as rather passive/aggressive even now.

I'm not too crazy about passive/aggressive personalities, and I think that, although he's made some strides, Coach Kiffin still has quite a bit of maturing to do.

But that's just my opinion.

Never heard this story, and made me laugh.

This is probably just one episode that contributed to Lane not getting serious head coach consideration.

I was also a senior. They did an all-call intercom announcement at school to share the news. That's the only time I remember news like that shared over the intercom.

For me, it was a basketball game of all things...

Bama v. Loyola in the Sweet 16.

Lost at the last second. We did everything right, but couldn't come out with the W against a team that was heavily favored and a national favorite (due to the sad death of Hank Gathers earlier in the year).

Man, I wanted to see the team win that game and go to the Elite 8 for the first time.
