I think we are taking more fringe recruits now at the back end of the class (I'm not saying Simmons was one of those) based on the reality of dollars and cents. You can't financially just take all the highest rated recruits anymore. You also have to fill with guys that might be developmental. Maybe those guys surprise you or get thrust into roles and perform well. As for individual players, there are a myriad of reasons why a guy who is very talented might be rated lower than guys who aren't as good.

I mean, he was definitely one of those. No reason to deny it. The in state schools didn't offer him and ours was one of the only big offers he got.
He was a really good eval though. That's going to be the name of the game for everyone going forward. You fill out the bottom 1/3 of your class with under the radar guys and the better teams will be the ones who get a handful of them right every year.

What I know about recruiting wouldn’t fill up a thimble, but this is the state of the media in general. Brando has been bitter about the SEC and Bama since they kicked his nutria rat eat’in arse to the curb.

A) What a shite for brains moron.
B) I can't think of anyone better at talent evaluation & scheme fit than DeBoer and Morgan. These under the radar finds will be the great equalizer for Alabama against the Oregons, Longhorn & Michigans of the NIL world.

How assclowns like Brando and Mascona end up working for major media outlets is beyond me. They have no business working for any media company outside of the state of Louisiana and should be banned from Alabama.

I heard that Saban got Brando fired from CBS after the way he acted following the 2019 LSU game in Tuscaloosa. How he was able to work for CBS for so long is beyond me. Shame on them for keeping that blow hard employed for so long.
