How would you rate Kalen so far as a game day coach now that he has a QB?

I know we’re used to the absolute elite adjustments and coaching from Nick for all those years but now that the stench of Milroe is gone, what do you think? It’s a new brand of football especially with Grubb calling plays but at least with a competent QB I think I can get used to it.

Also, I hope I never see another dual threat, power lifting champion Texas born QB named Jalen ever again in Alabama’s backfield please.

Nick left when he realized the playing field was being leveled. I don't blame him, but it is what it is. He was no longer going to be 3 deep at every position.

So it's difficult to compare his era (where you could stockpile) to this era.

This is unbecoming Milroe is a Bama man.

You're always a great gameday coach when your team wins.

I think he's doing a fine job, and he's looking more and more like the coach we thought he was when he was hired.

All he needed was his offense to come to life. He needed a competent QB who could make the throws Penix was making in Washington.

I think we're all set now. This season is like the 2008 season with Saban. We may not win it all, but we've arrived in the DeBoer era.

He’s lost one game this year while going on the road vs a very tough schedule with a DC that hears an ice cream truck and runs after it. DeBo has done pretty good.

No one disputes that. The dude clearly loves 'Bama and was a great advocate for the program from a personal level, but you have to admit it's nice watching a real QB operate KD's offense.

That's not why he left and it's insulting to portray it that way. He never ran from competition.

And at any rate, the playing field was more level before NIL. To suggest otherwise is to make the argument that it was easier to stockpile talent BEFORE the wealthiest programs could just buy whoever they want. People are reading this into the last couple seasons based on a handful of upsets - which have always occurred in college football - and the media is hyping that up to try to counter all the negative narratives about NIL. But we just saw Ohio State load up a team entirely through NIL and win the national championship. We saw a playoff where the gap between the major programs and the poorer ones could not have been clearer, with just one uncompetitive game after the next.

Turn on a game sometime with two mid tier ACC or Big XII teams. The level of play makes obvious that they're being gutted of talent by the bigger programs. They look like C-USA teams used to look.

You lack what Coach Bryant once highly valued...

Milroe tried to win every game he played in at Bama. And he didn't decide who was going to play at quarterback. Coaches did.

DeBoer is definitely the quarterback whisperer

On an “A” to “F” scale, I give him an A- for the offense but C- for the defense. I know Wommack is his buddy and I appreciate loyalty but when that loyalty is costing you dearly, you have to make some tough choices.

He coaches to win and is fearless…and I like that.

I think he is a really good coach just needs to get a new DC after the season.

I think the defensive scheme needs to change. So many offensive systems are becoming more run oriented.

i’m pretty high on kdb right now. was def worried about how this would go after fsu and such a bad ending to last year but man, i admit he’s done a whole lot to win me back since. it’s been fun to watch tbh.

i’m not as high on the guy in the dumb vest tho.

He has been fine. I don't like how we burn so many timeouts early, but I can't think of too many punt or go for it, FG or go for it, letting us run a gadget play, etc. type calls he has made this season that I thought were stupid. I don't think the last two have both been a little closer than they should have been because of anything he's doing. We just tend to execute poorly inside the 30. I think we have good plays for inside the 5 too. It's the 25 yards in between where we seem to be failing. It's costing us 10 points a game.

Going for the td instead of the field goal on 4th down was a fearless call, won the game for us and showed the boys he had complete faith in them.
