I am not focusing on the approach of either the head coach or the coaching staff in this thread. My question centers around leaders that we are supposed to have on this team. We know who the team captains are, but who is going to step up as a leader, and try to right this ship, as a player? Who is going to chew someone’s rear end if they’re giving only half effort? It goes without saying that we don’t have any Rolando McClains on this team. While I do realize that one of the main problems is the beyond laid-back attitude and Charmin soft approach of the coaches, we also have to have some team leaders somewhere that are willing to get on to somebody. The answers that we seek, as for solutions, do not seem to be coming from any of the coaches anytime soon. So I have to look elsewhere.

No team leaders. A bunch of guys who like to act big, but when theyre punched in the mouth by someone their size they curl up and cry. Soft, overpaid, lazy pansies fill bama’s roster.

Bernard should have been a captain.

It's funny how Washington had tougher & more physical players under Deboer.

Compared to this team.

The toughest players on this team are from WASHINGTON.

too many tic-tokers, not enough head knockers on this team.

I think a lot of that is that if you go to Washington you're probably not a top tier player, and Brailsford and Germie were not, and so you have something to prove. At Alabama these guys have always been top tier, so I think they need different motivation, which they aren't getting.

Riley, Bernard, and Simpson were the only offensive guys I saw that looked like they gave two shits on Saturday. Granted Ty missed some throws and looked rattled, but Williams catching a ball or the right side of the line putting up a fight might have helped.

I'm not sure I could name one defensive guy that even appeared to care about what was going on.

Must be why our coaches wanted to take snaps from him and give them to #5.

TTFWIW...

3rd party info...but an athlete on my team knows an athlete on a team at Bama that shares study hall with a few football players. Apparently, they said Deboer doesn't get on them, and when he does, they pay him no attention. So there ya go...

Here is the issue. They had a team meeting last year where the players did the same damn thing…

“Guys it starts with the details. Go to class be here early, clean after yourself, etc.”

If players continue to have player only meetings to address these things. Then the coaching staff is not holding anyone accountable.

Like DeBoer said, they're playing too uptight and hesitant, there's no juice on the sidelines.

Yeah well because the defense doesn't know what they're doing and apparently neither does our OL who routinely missed block assignments and people wonder why we stopped committing to the run.

In football when you don't know what you're doing, you're not confident and when you aren't confident the first thing that goes is toughness because you doubt and become uncertain

One big problem that was glazed over is two of the team leaders didn’t play on Saturday. Jam who everyone saw helping the running backs as much as he could and Tim who is the leader on defense. Not having them on the field was a problem and not just from a play standpoint.

I do agree we are bipolar because half the team is trying to uphold a standard probably Saban and the other half have adopted the more free will but do your job when it matters approach. I can see a big conflicting issue in the locker room with this mindset.

Seems like I remember hearing them have multiple meetings last year. It might have helped for one game and then they reverted back to the mean and lost the game after that

I am not a Manziel fan but he said it best after the loss in an interview this weekend. No one is afraid of Alabama anymore. Nor should they be with the product on the field the last 2 seasons.

Agreed. So overpaid."All disrespect will be handled accordingly."...the team didn't get that memo.
