Only two ways out of this for Alabama. Both will be painful.

Option 1: Cut bait, pay the buyout, lose a bunch of players, and dig in for a long term rebuild done the right way with a new, likely unheralded hire.
Option 2: DeBoer hits reset on this roster today and holds a press conference announcing every starting spot is open competition no matter what your NIL deal is or what was promised. Acknowledge publicly that he made a mistake focusing on talent retention at the expense of discipline and toughness. Admit that it will be difficult for everyone and more losses may come. Ask the fans to support the program and the players who stay to fight through it and promise to get it fixed. We rally behind that concept as fans/boosters/AD and if we begin to see changed attitude and effort by end of season, we give him another year regardless of record.
I can get behind either one of those because both address the root problem of an entitled and complacent culture that leaked in during 2024 and beyond as a byproduct of having to beg an entire roster to stay.
What I can't support is more of the same player and talent first culture and being asked to blindly believe that the effort we saw last season and Saturday will magically improve over time with no changes.

Bro you gotta accept that DeBoer is soft as baby shite. He was a terrible hire. He isn’t a terrible coach but he is bad for any SEC team. Whole Foods Harsin.

DeBoer has at least one more year regardless of how this season ends. Although if it goes completely off the rails and he goes 6-6, surviving will be difficult.

I see nothing in DeBoer's demeanor that he will suddenly try to be a tough coach... and doing that after the season has started is not going to help anything anyway.
DeBoer was simply the wrong coach to follow Saban. He may very well be a great coach, in the right environment, but the SEC and Alabama in particular needs a coach that is ready to deal with the attitude, the heat, and the pressure that comes from being here.
That said, I have no idea who would even be a potential replacement (if any).

Yeah at least Harsin contributed to the SEC spank bank folder.

Yep, DeBoer will do great at Oregon replacing Lanning when he moves onto the NFL

I say make a deal where they lose money in the NIL for every missed tackle or time caught on tape not giving 100%
The lack of effort especially in the defense was pathetic.

Kind of reminds me of McMahon for LSU basketball. Very nice guy, successful at his previous stop.
But in no way shape or form ready for the rigors of the SEC.

May as well accept it. DeBore will be in Tuscaloosa for at least 2 *more* seasons. Maybe 3.
They're not going to fire him unless he goes below .500. If he hasn't achieved anything of note by the time his contract is up, he will not be retained.
Except for a tanking, that's the best hope for now.

Kiffin as head coach, Pruitt as DC.
That’s your answer.

You forgot Option 3 … send in the strippers
It worked the last time they hired a coach from UW

This should’ve been the answer when they decided Lanning’s buyout was more than they were willing to pay to hire him.

Can we get to a time when no coach had more than 2-year buy out?
I mean if you pay a coach to win, and he doesn't win, how is that not "cause" for termination?

Option 2 is the only way. DeBoer has 3 years due to his buyout. He needs a major culture change this year and then rebuild next year. After that he is out of time.
But I am going to love the next 2 years of Bama burning.

All the Bama fans felt so bad for Gus when Auburn let him go. He has had the most success against Bama.
Pull the trigger and get on the Gus Bus.

Well sounds like option 2 is not happening.
Quote from today's press conference by DC Kane Wommack when asked if he would take out a guy who isn’t giving full effort: "...that (effort) did not show up on Saturday. We’re going to allow our players to get it fixed.”
