No way that patchwork, jerry-rigged conference is more lucrative than SEC.
But, as I understand it, nothing was restructured when Texas and OU joined so Sankey must have something up his sleeve.

Just from a quick Google search, the Big12 pays more annually because it is only a 6 year deal worth $2.8 billion. The SEC's deal is $3 billion over 10 years. The SEC deal was a big boost over the old deal with CBS since CBS was only paying around $55MM annually.

Possible. Snakey is a terrible commissioner. Added Texas and OU with nothing to actually show for it. Not sure what the idiot actually does. He sure sucks at obtaining money and marketing the SEC

They’re are attempting what the big did but to a larger scale. They’re bidding games/contracts. Instead of a deal with fox for every thing they are selling football to two media companies, bball to different media companies. It’s a smart idea for the big twelve bc it’s high risk high reward( which is why sankey wouldn’t try this). So if you’re a big twelve fan you might have to sign up to like three different streaming services if you want to watch your team play baseball bball and football. I imagine the big and sec are waiting to see the fan fallout from having to pay multiple streaming services.

Fair statement but when it comes to conference commissioners yormark is crushing it. Sankey is an idiot or media plant. Petite is reactionary and don’t won’t rock the boat, and Jim Phillips is a confused coward. Yormark is smart and aggressive.

The SEC has a 10-year media rights deal worth $3 billion, which began in 2024 with ESPN/ABC as the exclusive broadcaster for football.
That equates to $51 million annually per school based on total revenues of $852.6 million divided across all conference members.
Starting in 2025, the Big 12 will begin a six-year extension deal worth $2.3 billion with ESPN and Fox, averaging $380 million per year.
This translates to $31.6 million per school annually.

Sec didn’t do very good getting there last deal imo . Problem is some of your states have the lowest population compared to big ten schools . So while brands matter for tv the larger states where they have big brands matter more . Sec will be behind as a whole compared to big ten. I suspect the sec will get a lot more money becuase at the time OU and Texas were not per of the negotiations.

Texas and Oklahoma leave the Big 12- Big 12 teams get more money. Texas and Oklahoma join the SEC - SEC teams get less money.

He's too busy scheduling ridiculous schedules so that fewer SEC teams make it to the playoffs
