Shane Beamer is in the "cold as ice" category

I don't know if Kelly could miss a bowl game and survive, go 7-5/8-4, maybe, but if they went 5-7, I think his tenure would end before December.

I’d move Pittman to #1. DeBoer should be at least #8.

Nah one 5-6 season and he’s gone before the iron bowl.

Arkansas kept Pittman after a 4-8 season in Year 4. Why would they fire him now?
Hugh has yet to have a winning season at Auburn. If he's not #1 on this list, AU has lowered their expectations considerably.

It depends on circumstances. If Nussmier gets hurt and they go 5-7 with most of the losses at least being competitive then he stays but if all 7 are lopsided beat downs even with the starting QB then he might be done.

Yea, only thing keeping him at that point would be the large money owed. Which is a pretty big factor.

Only if they defund some hospitals or childen's elementary schools.
His buyout is outrageous for what LSU has been known to afford

Circumstance can make a difference to be sure, but on a list like this, I think we'd assume that "everything else being equal".

Literally the same day this article was posted on USA today, hmm....
USA Today - Brian Kelly Buyout

Far from perfect list.
Hugh Freeze definitely needs a winning season, but his seat is not that much hotter than the one in Tuscaloosa.
Bama fans are still seething about last season under DeBoer. Missed playoffs, what they perceive as coddling of malcontent players, mismanaging the QB position (how many Bama fans posted threads screaming about Milroe…..?),…..another year like that and DeBoer will not make it to 2026.

Fun question is what do the top 5 have to do to survive?

If this is true then the expectations at Auburn have changed drastically. I don't think there's any world where Hugh going under .500 is acceptable and I don't know how much better 6-6 or 7-5 look in year 3. This is especially true in the portal era when you have teams like last year's Indiana team going from 3-9 to 11-2 in a single offseason.

His $70 million buyout says otherwise. Come talk to us after year three when the buyout drops significantly.

Well you kinda answered the question yourself. For a program like Arkansas, apparently a 4-8 season in Year 4 is not a fireable offense. But surely a 4-8 season in Years 4 AND 6 would cost a man his job? Or has Arkansas fallen so far that is now acceptable?

He’s also had just two seasons, unlike Pittman who’s had 5.

I can guarantee you that Hugh will be fired long before he has a chance to get to a 30-31 overall record through 5 seasons. There’s no way an Auburn coach would ever see a sixth year with a losing record. Apparently at Arkansas, it’s enough to not only keep coaching but have fans argue that the seat isn’t even all that hot.

Here is a quote that you should recognize (12/31/2024)
“Now if DeBoer doesn’t yank him (Milroe) soon then yes, he will feel some heat this offseason “

I think we agree on Hugh Freeze, 7-5 is the minimum acceptable.
