The past few years have seen speculation of Florida State leaving the ACC for perhaps the SEC.
Is the grass always greener on the other side? How has Florida State football fared against the SEC?

Not including ou and Tex bc it’s a small sample size, but mizzou atm and usce all got better post joining the sec. Arky is the only football school in a worse place since joining the sec and a lot of that was more culture and demographic shifts than playing in the sec. Fsu is a better football program than atm mizz or usce(never won a bowl game til sec) so I’m sure they’d be fine.

Fun facts:
Kentucky football has winning records all time v Florida State, Clemson, Miami, Virginia Tech and of course Louisville.
Eat shite ACC

Arkansas did well before Petrino got himself fired, bad coaching hires and now insufficient nil funds are the problem.

FSU is a better fit for the SEC than some current members. I have no problem with them getting an invite. Hopefully if they do, they won't chicken out like the last time. It shouldn't matter to Gator fans; we play them and own them every year in every sport any way.

FSU was so stupid to screw the SEC over and join the ACC if for no other reason than proximity to the rest of the schools. They are in the heart of SEC country. They did it because they thought their schedule would be so tough it could prevent them from competing for national championships, which was correct, but they didn't factor in the money. In their defense, they probably had no idea of the money that would be involved in the future.

LSU played em with 2 of their better squads in many a year
No excuses, we shouldn’t be losing to FSU

Before Broyles came to Arkansas back in 1958, Arkansas had more losing seasons in the SWC than the rest of the members.
Now they reverted back to the bottom but in a different conference.

This is correct as Bobby Bowden was smart in saying that it was easier to win in a basketball conference like the AÇC.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but if FSU had joined the SEC in 1990 and been slotted into the West they would have been poised to dominate that division for at least a decade. Alabama would have competed during Stallings' tenure, and Auburn had a couple of good years, but otherwise the West was a wasteland up until LSU finally got up off the mat in the early 2000's.

I hope those douchebags never join the SEC.

Which members aren't a good fit?

Very doubtful they would win the West every single year.

You realize the article you are referencing is almost a year old. What makes you think that the SEC is currently looking to expand again?
You should post more often.

1992 to 2011 Arkansas was 78-80 in the SEC.

You've had 14 top 10 finishes in school history and only one of those came in the SEC (yes w/ Petrino)

Since the AP poll started in 1934 you had 58 seasons pre-SEC and so 13 / 58 = 22.4% of the time you would have a top 10 finish
Since you joined the SEC that is 1 / 33 = 3% of the time you have a top 10 finish.
That is a disastrous calamitous fall off the cliff. Even if Petrino stuck around without being an adulterer he'd have had to keep y'all in the top 10 seven more times to exceed your historical SWC average and I don't see that happening.
Going to a conference without any rivals and being on the farthest geographical border is a horrific idea just ask Nebraska how it panned out for them too. The situations are mirror images complete with the color scheme and baseball coach
