I think they crush it and take the trophy without question. BEVO’s Fina eat!

Same thing as Georgia...at some point, you just look at a team and just realize they are just good, not great. The good news is that 2 of the other teams are "good, not great" but Texas unfortunately plays the one capable of being great

I’m pulling for the Horns, but nobody’s beating the OSU of the past 2 games…assuming they keep showing up.

Texas certainly possesses the talent and ability to win but the mental/emotional aspect of football probably doesn’t get accounted for as much as it should and Ohio State would seem to be “playing on a mission” right now.
But, if any team is able to say “yeah, we see your mission” and manage to overcome Ohio State anyway, it’d probably be Texas. Texas mainly needs to stay focused for 4 qtrs straight (which seems difficult for them to do sometimes.)
Looking forward to this one. Wouldn’t surprise me if Ohio State blew Texas’ doors off and also wouldn’t surprise me if Texas beats them.

As long as the targeting calls go their way they should be good

I hope so. We'll see. They'll need for Ohio State and Notre Dame to collapse.

As long as we can run the ball, have Ewers not brain fart INTs, Auburn find a way to not be Auburn, punt the ball more than 35 yards, not give up consistent holding penalties, and have Sark not go derp in play calling..

I’m not 100% sure, but I believe this is only the 2nd game that Texas been an underdog the past 2 years..
The first?
Texas vs Alabama last year.. It’d be nice to see that team show up again.

Well they obviously will, so no need to worry.

Not that long ago, Ohio State was being rolled by a garbage Michigan team at home and their entire fanbase wanted to fire their coach.
Ohio State has been great the past 2 games. It is kind of hard to be great 3 games in a row.

OSU finna stomp a muddhole

Texas vs Ohio St is pretty much the NC game. I think ND beats Penn St because PSU got to make the semis by playing SMU and Boise St...which is insane.
Before it all started I predicted Ohio St vs ND in the NC game...and OSU just looks elite right now.

You should temper your expectations.
Ohio State's defense is an absolute perfect counter to the Texas offensive scheme. They run a 4-2-5 like Georgia, which locks down the the screen/short passing game and running off tackle/outside. Ohio State has a much better secondary and run stoppers at d-end(not that Texas could run vs Georgia) that are elite at setting the edge, and Texas isn't built to hammer the A/B gap.
I don't think Ewers will be able to take the top off the Ohio State secondary the same way he did Georgia in the SEC CG(which still stalled in the RZ) and Texas struggles to move the ball. Unless they can shutdown Ohio State's offense and make it a defensive struggle, their best shot might unironically be rolling the dice on Arch's legs
I don't think there's much of a talent gap, but Ohio State's scheme matches up way better against Texas O than vice versa

yep, this is where I'm at. For some reason I'm not worried about their offense vs our defense as much as I'm concerned for the inverse. Our run game sucks and as a result, our RZ offense sucks donkey dick. I wish Sark would pull his head out of his arse and just trot Arch out there once we get in the RZ and let him run the offense.
To think what this season could have been if we wouldn't have lost our starting RB's in camp. Especially in a game like this and the 2 Georgia games.

I guess we'll see how it plays out, but it just looks like a bad matchup on paper. Penn State, Nebraska and Michigan were able to shut down their offense, so it's doable, but Sorrell/Burke need the bulk of the snaps to stop the run game, which compromises the pass rush. And that pretty much leaves it up to the secondary to survive in zone and capitalize on any mistakes made by Howard

On Defense
Bend but don’t break. Make them nickel and dime their way down the field and hope they make some mistakes.
On Offense
Air it out. Use a lot of motion to create some easy pitch and catches. This can simulate a running game.
Spread it out.
Mix in some 5 wide.
Golden / Bond / Moore / Bolden / Wingo
Run some Go Go with 2 backs
Golden / Blue / Helm / Wisner / Moore
Get away from tendencies.
Call some QE running plays.
Use Arch in the Red Zone.
It’s going to be tough sledding with the way OSU is playing, but they have weaknesses.. just gotta hope Sark can identify them..
Oh, and hope good Quinn shows up.
