DeBoer didn’t bench Milroe because he saw the fight in Milroe’s eyes

He should’ve taken a closer look in his eyes in the Oklahoma game then when he pouted by himself and looked like his puppy just died.

I think the "this program means a lot to" piece is the important part.

Basically he knew he couldn’t pull Milroe - the guy is liked by everyone there (OUTSIDE of footbal play). Extremely smart and has a great, loving personality. He kept players there after Saban left.

He can be a Heisman winner one minute and not worthy of 3rd team status the next.

Just wasn’t gong to happen this year.

The page has turned now.

His hands (or another body part) were “tied” but not for the reason many on here are saying or thinking.

Wow. Willing to lose everything because Milroe had “the look.”

Not sure KDB is up for this kind of job.

I don't mind a coach not embarrassing a qb by benching him in his last game or throwing him under the bus in the post-game presser. This bowl game means little in the long run.

What if Ty comes in and blows his knee up? You think Michigan is excited to see their starting qb on crutches even if they did win a bowl game? If that's a knee he'll miss the entire year next season and for what?? To win the Reliaquest Bowl?

Deboer might not be it if this is his serious answer

Kalen should have looked in the eyes of his receivers after poorly thrown balls by #4

We're in a world of shite if this man is honestly telling us the truth

Didn't he say the same exact thing after the OU game?

There are many red flags about his personality. Saban all but named him when discussing behavioral issues that led to his retirement.

What if Ty came in and won the game for us? How much excitement would there be for next year?

You only have two options

A-Kalen is trying to get this season in the books and protecting Milroe

B-Kalen is out of his depth as HC at a school like Alabama.

That's funny because "the look" that I see from Milroe when things start to go south is someone that I pull from the game.

I am completely out on him, and I have been com, pletely rational and realistic in terms of what I expected. He has absolutely zero balls.
