How in the heck did Hunter win the Heisman over Jeanty? Jeanty had arguably the second best season ever for a RB with nearly 2500 yds, 29 tds and 7.3 ypc. Hunter had a good season ,but I think it was purely social media hype with Deion and the Buffalos…

Jeanty

CAR
344
YDS
2,497
TD
29
AVG
7.3

Hunter
REC
92
YDS
1,152
TD
14
AVG
12.5

Comparing recent WR to win the Heisman - Devonta Smith. Hunter had 600 less yards and 11 fewer tds… ??

This one is straight robbery. Jean Ty is second only to Barry Sanders.

Hunter is a great player but Jeanty put up generational numbers IMO.

Unless I missed someone, it looked like this was the first time since 2005 that the SEC didn't have a player finish in the top 10 of Heisman results.

It’s a weak year and the voters are a sucker for a two way player. He’s a very good DB *and* WR.

My big thing is Jeanty lifted that team to the playoffs while Hunter lifted his team to some shite bowl game.

The Heisman is a joke. Runs on pure hype. The only real deserving player to win it in the last 10 years was Joe Burrow.

Can't argue with that.

Yeah, we should give the trophy to a guy that played against 1 decent team all season long instead of the guy who played 100+ snaps of football almost every game and was the best player on the field, on either side of the ball, every time the ball was snapped.

tRant knows so much more than all these Heisman voters, including all the past winners who played elite levels of football instead of being internet warriors.

How many interceptions and tackles did Smith have?

Love or hate Deion, Hunter played over 120 snaps in many games.

I think either Hunter or Jeanty were deserving. And it’s cool to reward a uniquely talented player like Hunter who played both ways, rather than just another qb who puts up big numbers.

So being above average at two positions is Heisman worthy these days

I have no problem and both deserved. Can only have one and the dude play over 350 more snaps than anyone and at a high level.

Decent? You mean the #1 team in the country that he rocked for 200 yards and almost found a way for a team like Boise State to beat them? It's not like he racked up stats against the weakest opponents either. His lowest output was against the FCS school.

I think you would love high school football, man. This happens every week at most schools.

My question is how many players have played DB/WR in college? It seems like a really high hit rate for the Heisman just showing up doing this. It shouldn't come down to twisting the arm of a coach to get a Heisman for playing both sides of the ball.

Jeanty had a great year and is a fantastic RB. Hunter did something that hasn't ever been done. If you haven't seen Hunter play, check out their bowl game and you'll be in for a treat. He's the best player on the field in every game he plays.

You're also looking at Hunter's WR stats only. He's an actual shut down corner and won the Bednarik award as well as the Biletnikoff this year. Recently the Heisman has been which high stats QB is on a 10 win team. This year they actually gave it to the best player in college football.

Good grief. Are you really that dumb?

I’m no Colorado fan, and I despise Sanders, but Travis Hunter had a season that hasn’t been seen in a long time, if ever.

Defense (he was one of the best corners in the country):
- Tied for 4th in pass deflections.
- Tied for 18th in interceptions.

Offense (he was one of the best receivers in the country):
- 2nd in receiving TDs.
- 5th in receptions.
- 6th in receiving yards.

Jeanty was great also, and he may end up being a really good NFL RB, but overall, he was great against a schedule that played against really bad teams. The Oregon game was early in the season and you can catch anyone off guard..

Ahhh an argument deliberately leaving out the most important aspect of the argument.
