Think Bama needs some experienced playmakers from the portal?

On both sides of the ball.
An extra WR would definitely help - outside of the Williams and Bernard, most have been underwhelming. That COULD be due to who is slinging it though.
Need some headhunters on defense - as well as guys who can shake blocks and make some tackles on running plays.
Will need new kickers.

I'm hoping that Odom getting more meaningful snaps late in the year is a sign of him making serious progress rather than a desperate attempt at placating an immature a-hole who is going to portal out anyway.

I would focus mainly on defensive line/linebackers. It would help to get some more offensive linemen as well

I don’t. I’m all about teaching these young guys the system and implementing BeBoers culture. That’s hard to do when you bring in transfer portal players. Only way I go to portal is if we do not have enough depth at a position and don’t sign any freshmen to that position.

Outside of Williams, there are no true perimeter threats. Even Bernard is a third, maybe second receiver. He was overshadowed by the other guys at UW last season. The other receivers on Bama's roster were vastly overrated coming out of HS. Odom is a big target but he's completely raw. Hale is coming back but he's also not a one receiver.

I don’t think anyone is advocating being like Deon Sanders and bringing in 60 guys from the portal. At least I’m not.
I do believe we need a GOOD true DT or DE, an elite or really good WR, a really good or elite ILB.
The caveat is NOT getting portal guys who are just average or warm bodies. That’d be a waste doing that.
The problem is, probably 99% of the guys in the portal are very average and not difference makers. Very few really good players in the portal.

Prentice and Law are both great players. Even Williams can barely get a touch these days. I don't see how anyone could judge the receivers in this situation. It's not like 2022 where Bryce was throwing darts and the receiving corps was posting ten drops a game.

In fairness you're talking about the #9 and #37 picks in the NFL draft. Hard not to be overshadowed by a high first and second rounder.
Bernard is good. Not the fastest ever, but the guy can be a weapon with the right QB,

We don't need playmakers.
We need players more interested in development than NIL money.
We need players who want to be part of a team, not a collective.
We need players who are willing to do what it takes to win.

A great RB would be nice but if I had to choose, id take a disruptive D Lineman

We have whiffed unbelievably bad on DL lately. That should be the biggest priority.

Disagree on that. Think he has all the tools to be that opposite of Ryan. Before he got injured, he was expected to be our no. 1 receiver.

From a roster management standpoint, nothing matters more than being rid of Jalen Milroe. It's just that simple.

You'll find little more of that in the portal than you will out of high school.
These guys get in the portal because they're not very good or there's money to be made.
The players a coaching staff would want out of the portal are no different than the same players that are wanted out of high school. These are professional athletes now, all of them. And if they're not worth paying, then they're not worth having.

It was funny hearing the commentators talk about how loaded our QB room is during the Mercer game, but honestly it wouldn’t hurt to see what QBs are available. We’ll need a linebacker and some O linemen if possible.

Prentice and Law are both great players
C'mon Man
Neither of those two can see greatness from their seat. Law is without a doubt the most talk about player that has done nothing his entire time at Bama other than get injured.

Keep an eye on Miller Moss. He's leaving USC and Bama was one of the first schools to offer him in high school and he visited the campus.

Hopefully Jalen hale is as good as advertised
