It's weird, LSU is probably the ranked SEC team with the least weaknesses.

I'm not saying LSU is the best team in the SEC, just that they don't really have any major weakness.

Every ranked team in the SEC has MAJOR offensive issues, or a talent issue. Be it a weak passing game or overall inconsistency.

UGA, Bama (oline also sucks), Tenn, and Texas have a quarterback issue. All 3 teams have massive quarterback inconsistency on a game by game or drive by drive basis.

Ole Miss can only throw the football to Trey Harris, it's one read to Harris or bust.

Texas a&m has no passing game.

Missouri has no offensive line.

Vanderbilt isn't talented enough depth wise to win consistently.

LSU's biggest weakness was it's defense and run game, but that's not really an issue anymore. With the emergence of Caden Durham at running back we've found our run game. And overall the defense has statistically become one of the best scoring, pass rush, and run stopping defense in the SEC. At this point LSUs only real weakness is it's safety play, which is still below average in coverage.

Edit: thought I mentioned Tennessee when typing it out. I forgot to, but fixed it.

I think overall LSU is the most improved team since opening day. Solid offense and appears the defense is no longer a liability. Not the best in the SEC but top 3-4. Offense puts up 24-27 in a game LSU is likely to win any game remaining on the schedule.

My assessment anyway.

I don't really care. I'm just enjoying tRide.

This season is chaos, and we thrive in chaos.

Maybe when the backup QB is playing and the offense was tailored to his skills but Weigman can sling it a little. Since he came back from injury. 70% comp% for 247 yards per game.

Literally the two most important things required to be a complete football team.

Here comes Coach Poundthecock to enlighten everyone on his football acumen.

You regurgitate things you’ve heard on tv while watching the vols get the crap beat out of them for 26 years.

As a vol fan, what do you know about "complete football teams"?

Imagine looking at these numbers even just 10 years ago and having the audacity to say there aren't any weaknesses.

Has all of CFB except Tennessee and UGA turned baby shite soft?

You delusional little hillbilly from the hills of Tennessee who is most likely married to his cousin. You are the most ignorant poster on this site. Tennessee is not a national powerhouse, get over it

LSU ... they don't really have any major weakness.

Brian Kelly is 4-6 against ranked opponents at LSU - that's enough of a major weakness for any season/team -

he's 1-1 so far in 2024 -

Total offense and defense does not account for strength of opponent or garbage time stats.

LSU has played several good and elite defenses this year: USCw (SP+ #60 & FPI #31 def efficiency), Ole Miss (SP+ #6 & FPI #5 def efficiency), South Carolina (SP+ #21 & FPI #4 def efficiency), Arkansas (SP+ #36 & FPI #25 def efficiency).

Just for reference below is LSU vs Tennessee's offensive and defensive efficiencies.

LSU:
SP+ #3 & FPI #8 offensive efficiency
SP+ #38 & FPI #35 defense efficiency

Tennessee:
SP+ #25 & FPI #45 offensive efficiency
SP+ #3 & FPI #1 defense efficiency

The big difference between LSU and Tennessee is LSU has improved significantly each week on defense, starting around #100 in the country in the first 2 weeks of the season to the middle 30s at week 8. Tennessee has seemingly regressed on offense throughout the year, yalls defense is great though.

LSU has played one decent SEC team--Ole Miss. ATM has played no decent SEC teams. LSU lost to an awful USC. ATM lost to Notre Dame. The team that losses between LSU and ATM on Saturday is headed to the bottom of the barrel. If you two West teams want something to brag about brag about your weak schedules.

You alluded to it with safety play, but our biggest weakness is gaping holes in coverage. Even though the defense is greatly improved, the corners, safeties, and linebackers often still make the wrong read. It does seem to happen less now which is nice.

Kelly lost 2 ranked openers one to FSU, a team that ended up ranked higher than LSU, and was undefeated in the 2023 regular season. And 1 to a average USCw team. He lost to eventually national champion UGA in the SEC Championship Game in 2022, the second highest ranked SEC team in 2022 in 10-2 Tennessee, 10-2 Ole miss in 2023, and 2023 12-1 SEC champion and CFP semi-finalist Alabama.

That's a pretty good group of teams to lose to, 4 of the 6 ranked teams were ranked in the top 8. He's lost to 2 unranked teams in 3 years.

Kelly is 4-3 when ranked lower than the ranked opponent.

He's 26-8 in 3 years at LSU.

and if we're being honest, the same can be said about a&m. we can look for and find a weakness......the OP states we've found our run game. i'm not sure i'm comfortable saying that......and he says you don't have a passing game, not sure that's truly accurate either. in stretches, both can be true, but i don't think its the true identity just yet.

but overall, i think the opening losses for both teams have lead them to where they're at today, which aligns us for a potentially all time classic in CS saturday night.........so don't spoil it for us!
