Deboer's happy go lucky demeanor not doing him any favors with the fanbase right now

The guy can't magically change his personality, he is who is he is, but there's absolutely no way he can be pleased deep down with how the team is playing and where they are at in terms of discipline and execution.

So I'm confused as to why he constantly has this gigantic huge grin on his face and this super upbeat attitude at every single press conference.

I get him not wanting drag his team publicly or call anyone out by name, but showing a little bit of anger or frustration or heat would be more than appropriate.

Not long ago the same fanbase were berating Nick Saban for not destroying players and saying he got soft.

The reality is the entitlement of this fanbase is toxic.

The irony is they complain about the player's entitlement as if they aren't any different... only difference is the players actually put in the work to perform on Saturday.

If he went out and berated a player in front of the media they and the fan base would go nuclear about that. Alabama is a marked program. People don’t like us. A lot of the people complaining are trolls and morons.

He did lose his cool in the Vandy game over the DPI call. Seems to have a long fuse.

He ripped the refs a new one at Georgia. Full on screaming in the refs face after running 25 yards down field while screaming the whole way there

He also doubled slapped the ground afterwards. He was truly pissed.

I get what you are saying - he doesn't seem stern enough. There are a couple of things to remember: 1) We don't know what he does when the cameras are not rolling. He might be firmer when out of the public eye. 2) Today's athletes don't seem to respond as well to authoritarianism as players of previous generations. Maybe they will respond to Deboer's encouraging enthusiasm.

The point - we really cannot assess how his style will produce until he has a couple of seasons under his built. And that is where we as fans need to develop patience. It's hard to watch the boat take on water, I get it. The tendency is to panic and overreact. But it really will take a little time to determine if he was the right hire.

I am not sure about DeBoer's persona and how that will play out. I did notice a big difference in Milroe after the South Carolina game. After that win he looked like they had lost and that is a good sign. Hope the rest of the team feels that way and starts kicking arse. People say Milroe has a big influence on the team. I do not doubt that. If they continue to play bad that is a reflection of the team chemistry and the coaching staff. Pat Trammel was not the greatest talent at quarterback, but his influence on the team was huge. Tebow was similar at Florida.

Tim Tebow was a very talented QB in college. He was by all accounts a great individual player. And he is by all accounts a great individual person. But his leadership did not effect many of his teammates (or his coach). That was a wild bunch.

Deboer is 50-4 since 2022. He still has a team that still controls its destiny both in SEC and NC. Only Finebaum caller level idiots are melting

He should definitely be disappointed with his play last Saturday. And all kidding aside, the Heisman talk and hype might have been in the back of his brain.

I think people need to understand that the days of being an authoritarian are gone until the transfer portal is fixed. Players now have so much power over the coaches due to the new transfer rules. If coaches come down too hard on them, they can easily redshirt and leave for greener pastures at the end of the season.

Wanting DeBoer to change who he is and be something different is a losing strategy. You have to let him be him.

Plenty of things to criticize, and rightfully so, but the guy has to be allowed to run the program his way.

The deal is that the transfer portal is not going to be fixed in a way that will satisfy fans who want to go back to the old days where players had no clout.

I have heard that there is ZERO leadership or structure in the coaching ranks. People I know that work there say it is an absolute mess now compared to how it was under Saban.
