I am no UK fan, but you can find me on the Library patio Saturday.

Visiting Oxford is always a good time but I have a real question.
The stadium seating capacity has increased in recent years to around 64k now. Has Oxford been able to keep up with hotel capacity to house opposing fanbases or is still a lot of people road tripping back and forth from Memphis?

They have increased the number of hotel rooms, but I feel like they could still use more. There been been a few hotels added. The problem is student enrollment is up and more and more parents come in on the weekends, whether they go to The game or not.

Yes and no... More hotels, but not enough. Lot of Airbnb stuff that cost a ton.
The Georgia weekend will pay off a friend of mines mortgage for 2 years.

No trip for me sadly. Never had the Oxford pleasure, but I hear good things.

Not this year. Would like to. Too many other expenses on my plate right now.

I have a notion to visit all the SEC stadiums eventually, and Oxford will be at or near the first I visit. But alas, it will not be this year.

And that is why there are not enough hotels in Oxford!

67,505 for the Ga Southern game
There’s a lot more condo complexes in and around Oxford. Not many hotels. A few more boutique type hotels have popped up in the last 5-10 yrs

Made the trip in 2018. Fun game and an overall great experience.

The cost of real estate in Oxford is insanely high, so the question is - where would you build a new hotel? They are building something next to the new apartments (The Pearl) right off of Sisk, but I have no clue what those buildings are. I suspect that area (Oxford Commons) is probably the most prime area for building new hotels and there's certainly plenty of plots off of Ed Perry available.
