Would it be recognized as a power 5 conference is question. Bc then they would take a playoff stop.

I haven't kept up to date on rule changes, but I'm pretty sure the 1-4 seeds are just the highest ranked conference winners even if they aren't a "power" conference.

Looks like they may have to spend some money to pick them up
I sort of like Boise St that blue after turf is pretty cool.
I’m surprised they are not in the Big12

Big12 gets a playoff spot and it’s just a glorified Conf USA now….

Add Wyoming, Idaho. Utah State, and the 2 montana schools and it would be a pretty good conference.

Would just be curious to see if they get an automatic playoff berth.

They need 2 more teams to keep their status, but I bet they try to go for more teams.

Yea there really isn't a P4 G5 deal anymore.. I mean there is, but there isn't.
Top 5 ranked conference champs get auto bid and top 4 of those get a Bye, regardless of conference affiliation.
So if Boise State out of the MWC and Tulane out of CUSA were both ranked higher than the ACC and Big 12 Champ, one of the the ACC or Big 12 champ is getting left out,
Probably will never happen but its possible.

That blue turf is literally painful to see on TV. I can’t watch their home games. It’s makes kinda like dizzy when I see it? Hurts my eyes.

It’s over.
I’d rather join the big12 and they aren’t looking for anymore former wac/Mw teams.
That’s why grabbing smu for the ACC, and UCF for the big 12 means those two conferences are in a spiral.

Official notice coming today. It broke everywhere overnight.
I doubt we see Cal and Stanford join, since the money will be closer to G5 money than Power 4 money.
They're looking for 2 more teams, so I wouldn't be surprised if at least one more Mountain West team leaves. My assumption is 2 of Wyoming, UNLV, or Nevada. Could see Air Force try to go to the American if the conference starts to fall apart to play in the same league as Army and Navy, but it would be a weird fit.
Hawaii makes sense for the PAC, but I doubt they do it because of the travel. Warriors may be in a lot of trouble if they have to go independent or get left behind in a diminished Mountain West. I wonder if we might see some push to merge the MWC and C-USA.

Pretty much. If you're just grabbing any team you can, the conference will be an also-ran.
Boise State is the only team with a pulse in that group. They could hold out for a better offer.

Probably not, the payouts wouldn’t be worth it, the sdsu ad wicker is currently getting roasted all over Bay Area sports radio bc he turned down a big 12 offer that’s estimated to be worth three times what the new pac would draw. The big already pays less than the acc so unless calford just can’t stomach the travel they’d be sacrificing a lot of monetary and media gains.

Unless the PAC-12 has some serious backing, I have no clue why those programs would leave where they’re at now
