I don't get it. There aren't Elephants within 3,000 miles of Tuscaloosa. I know there aren't Tigers in LA but at least it's intimidating and Elephants aren't. Also Tuscaloosa is 200 miles at least inland, where does the tide part come from? In addition, where does the Crimson part come? I've never seen a red ocean at Orange Beach. Lots of things making 0 sense.

Crimson tide because blood flows in the highways and byways of Alabama after a loss.

Elephant because it's the only land animal larger than their women.

The Earth is flat and nothing can stop a huge wave if it was to happen.

Go pet a wild bull elephant and report back. No idea about the ocean part though. You can find shark tooth fossils in west Alabama.

It dates to the early days of McCarthyism. “Bear” Bryant was given that nickname because that was a common nickname for hairy homosexual men and both he and AD were known radical communists thus the red communists movement was corrupted into crimson tide.

The name "Crimson Tide" is supposed to have first been used by Hugh Roberts, former sports editor of the Birmingham Age-Herald. He used "Crimson Tide" in describing an Alabama-Auburn game played in Birmingham in 1907, the last football contest between the two schools until 1948 when the series was resumed. The game was played in a sea of mud and Auburn was a heavy favorite to win.

But, evidently, the "Thin Red Line" played a great game in the red mud and held Auburn to a 6-6 tie, thus gaining the name "Crimson Tide." Zipp Newman, former sports editor of the Birmingham News, probably popularized the name more than any other writer.

You serious Clark? Elephants are the largest land mammals in the world. An angry elephant would make short work of you.

Massive wave of blood at the battle of tombigbee 400 years ago. General Custard won a costly battle.
