1. Auburn: they are quietly building under Freeze and if they can get some decent QB play this year they could actually make some noise. So many sleeping on them. Their schedule isn't that bad.

2. Aggies: Very talented roster and the new offense which seems like the players are already loving it. Seems Klein is simplifying it as much as possible so they can hit the ground running. Weigman seems to really like it so he must feel comfortable with it. Schedule is doable.

3. Ole Miss: i put them this low because most people already know that they are really good. But no one really believes Kiffin will actually get it done without a wtf just happened sort of game here or there.

4. Missouri: Similar scenario with Ole Miss and their post season win over Ohio State has them on a lot of people's radars. I think losing Shrader will have a big impact on their offense though. He was a heart and soul type of guy that other players fed off.

5. Tennessee: Vols know what's coming but the rest of you seem to not.

6-7, I'd say very quietly. Looks like they have another New Mexico team coming to Jordan Hare for homecoming. That can't be good.

You aren’t smart enough to describe what is “consistently elite”, so let’s make it easier…..

Were the 2022 vols elite?

Bobby P has a guy at QB who can sling the ball and run. We have the pieces on offense to put up some points. Defense should be “ok.” Maybe enough there to pull off a couple surprises.

Hypes 4th season with the highest paid player in the league shouldn't be considered a dark horse.

Auburn and Aggies underrated based on talent level.

Respect is earned and Aggies have some work to do. The combination of Elko and Tommy Moffitt toughening team up should give respectable results and schedule is modestly favorable.

Tommy Moffitt may have been the most under the radar hire of the offseason.

1. Oklahoma
I have seen it too many times.. people write them off, and they come out and punch people in the mouth. Maybe not this year.. maybe not with Venables.. but they will not be the next Nebraska imo. Their schedule is hard, but it honestly wouldn't surprise me if those assholes made the playoffs. They are more like Alabama than Nebraska. If and when they hire the right coach, you will understand. I hope they never do again.

2. Texas A&M
They have a lot of talent on campus. Elko is a good DC. Klein is a good OC. Does it work with all of the new transfers? Do either one of them have an eye for talent? I'm not sure they will rise to the top this year, but if they are the right coaches.. they will certainly jump up and bite a few teams in the arse.

3. Auburn
Dude is a good coach and has been recruiting some big time players. I could see 9+ wins this year.

Aggies. I don't think you can call Missouri a dark horse because they had a good season last year and everyone expects them to continue that success.
Aggies have a very good roster and I think elko's a really good defensive coach. If they can put together an offense so they could sneak up on a few people. I know our game there is going to be a battle.

If Lane can’t get it done this year, he never will.
