Auburn Athletics introduces new premium club, permanent field suites at JHS
4/25/2024 1:00:00 PM
AUBURN, Ala. – The space near where Travis Tidwell, Auburn’s first All-American after World War II, prepared to play will come to life again this fall at Jordan-Hare Stadium with the opening of the Locker Room Club.
Part of three new premium options on sale next week and debuting in 2024, the Locker Room Club, five permanent field suites and the Hall of Fame Club at Plainsman Park will offer fans new ways to enjoy football gameday on the Plains.
“Another step in the continued enhancements of Jordan-Hare Stadium,” said Rhett Hobart, deputy athletics director for external affairs. “These are a few additional pieces of the puzzle as we seek to continue expanding our premium offerings to make the best environment in college football even better.”
Tigers Unlimited will reach out next week to season ticket holders, based on priority, to share pricing and gauge interest in the new premium options.
LOCKER ROOM CLUB
Featuring Jordan Hare’s original exposed brick and concrete, the Locker Room Club beneath the bowl in the stadium’s southeast corner will transport fans back to 1949, when Tidwell helped Auburn conclude the season with a 14-13 Iron Bowl victory over Alabama.
“Our team is embracing the uniqueness of the space and is renovating and restoring it to make it an incredibly unique club experience at field level,” Hobart said.
Set to be sold on a per-season basis with a capacity of approximately 350, a premier offering included with Locker Room Club access passes will be the opportunity to watch games from an exclusive standing room space along the full east sideline of JHS. Drink rails have been added along the fence line just behind the visiting bench to provide an immersive field level experience for Locker Room Club members.
Field Suites

Each suite features TVs, canopies, multiple tiers of standing and drink rails and dedicated food and beverage offerings. The largest suite, with space for 45 fans, will be in the southeast corner and include Locker Room Club access. The southwest suites will host 16 and 35 guests, respectively. Both field suites in the north end zone will have room for 18 fans.
Hall of Fame Club

Opened before the 2024 baseball season, the Hall of Fame Club will also be available in the fall to offer Auburn football fans a premium tailgating opportunity in club space prior to the Tigers’ eight home games, with plans for other new opportunities as Plainsman Park continues to develop.

Wow. If that doesn’t get the common folk excited I don’t know what will. Just what the doctor ordered for JHS

I can't believe these get green lit. They look awful. Such a massive waste of resources and time.

Yay for the super rich!

So I guess you can sell crappy views of the game if you throw in some big screen TVs and alcohol.
Might be interesting as a novelty once or twice, but not if you actually want to watch the game (other than on a TV or the video board), I'd stick to the stands.

Attendance is dropping as costs rise and the home viewing experience improves, and I don’t mind them squeezing more out of the folks willing to pay premium prices.
Has to have balance, though. Continue improving the common fan and family experience for game days

That doesn't sound like a premium option to me

Who would pay for this?
I can’t really see much at field level.
Fancy food and beer?
Walking behind the bench?
I don’t see the value.
Reduce capacity, individual chair seats, and a cup holder for everybody.

Will we be able to "share" our drinks with the opposing team?

Yeah removing seats for “luxury” experiences is great for the common fan and family.
And I know what’ll be great for my kids to come, more rap music blasted over and over on the biggest jumbotron in sports.

very "minor league ballpark" feel to it all

Voice from the east rail on a hot , humid September day,
"HEY number 64!!!!! How about a nice COLD one!! Ease over here and enjoy. It ain't a bud light.'"

I don’t really understand the gripe. We’re talking premium clubs and premium suites. Yeah - squeeze more money from the people that want those “premium” experiences. We should capitalize on that market

I know last season sold out on paper but there were plenty of games with open seats.
If more premium options keeps revenue high in order to keep improving a venue that’s utilized like 7 times a year, then that’s fine with me.

WTF
I think if there’s a market at Jordan Hare for premium seating, field suites, whatever, Auburn should have that product and price it in a way that helps fund the fan experience for everyone else.
I’m not advocating for jacking up the price for everyone. I just think as schools struggle to pack in fans at the rate that they used to, that a strategy should be in place to keep money flowing at JH and keep the seats full.

That sentence I quoted sounded like a " tax the rich" statement.

They read it like "jack ticket prices up for everyone."
What you said is those people that have to subscribe to all these different services because they think need premium experiences needs to be shown where to throw their money. Such as those people that have to have Twitter Blue, Youtube Red, Paramount TV, Netflix, Youtube TV, Spotify, 300 ram hard drive for thousands of pictures, 300 ram harddrive for pictures of soyboy you met at the organic latte bar.
Those people we dont mind marketing.
Beatbammer, in other words.
