Not an unreasonable prediction. But probably applies to everyone except Georgia.

You went 12-2 in a very weak conference

You won a big game out of conference

You got your arse kicked up and down the field by Washington

Those are facts

They are going to experience the meat grinder just like every other team in the conference. They seem to be equipped along the lines and that will help them start off right but it will be just as tough for them as everybody else.

and t'sip lost to the Big 12 no.3 team at a neutral site.

pooooor t'sip

What happened last season probably does not have much bearing on what happens this season.

Meat grinder? What Meat grinder?

Look at their schedule...

Miss State in Austin? You think Texas loses that?
OU in the Cotton Bowl? Close to a toss up but Texas will be favored.
Georgia in Austin. They will be underdogs but will have a shot at home.
@ Vandy? You kiddin'?
Florida in Austin Texas will be heavily favored.
@ Arkansas? The crowd will be jacked but they are playing the Arkansas team. Texas should win that.
Kentucky in Austin. Like Florida. Texas will be heavily favored.
@ A&M. Very much like the Arkansas game. Huge emotional game for the crowd. Texas will be favored.

It's too bad that league just didn't give them South Carolina instead of Georgia and they would effectively have the eight lowest rated teams from '23,

They got a really nice draw for their first season.

They'd lose 5 games playing UT's schedule. Luckily for them, they'll only lose 2 or 3.

But its all downhill from here, anyway.

It’s not Bama and UGA.

It’s that playing at Auburn, Florida, Tenner, or LSU will be fricking hell. TAMU, Kentucky, Mizzou and Ole Miss can give you their best of the season which will beat you if you slip up more than once.

And there’s OU. Your little frickbuddy about to go through the same little hell.

that's a problem everyone in the SEC faces.

the league added two programs that can beat any team on any given Saturday, but posters here tend to mutter about "muh SEC grind" as if their own schedules didn't just add 1 or 2 very losable games.

Sarkisian is the only coach in the last 10 years to recruit players built for the SEC. He's had 2 top 5 recruiting classes in the last three years and it wasn't just receivers, backs, and secondary to boost his numbers. He's built in the trenches signing at least 3 five stars to the offensive line alone. They will consistently post better records than what you've posted. Also, there was no NIL before Sark.

I'm not claiming they will win the SEC every year, but they are not going to struggle like some at the Rant believe.

Ultimately, I don't think Texas is going to struggle any more than they have over the last couple of decades in the Big12. The bump in recruiting will partially cancel out the bump in quality.

The key is that it will be easier to recruit a coach. And Texas certainly needs one, and most likely two, coaches.

Football - Sky's the limit. Sark is probably not the guy. But maybe he is.
Basketball - no drop off. Terry almost certainly not the guy.
Baseball - will be back in business in a a few years.

Texas lost by 6, and was on the Washington 13 trying to score to win the game at the very end. This is getting your arse-kicked up & down the field?

Remember, that was a Washington team that beat Oregon twice last season. Washington had a 6-year covid QB who will be taken in the first round of the NFL draft.

And with the changing landscaping of cfb and a harder schedule it is going to only get tougher.

You think the changing landscape hurts Texas? Look, I don't like where CFB is going, but it is going in a direction that HELPS Texas. We have more money than Davy Crockett, so if CFB is just going to be free agency and buying players, it's not going to hurt us.

I think our game with Texas will be harder than our tussle with Bama this season.

That's not good news for Georgia: 26-43 against Bama all time and 1-5 since 2008. Things typically go well for Georgia when they play Alabama.

Good to know aggy and piggy heads aren't the only ones where the Longhorns can live rent free. There was already plenty of space but adding jawja just ups the square footage!
