Is Nate Oats the favorite to be the top coach in the SEC going forward?

The answer is a RESOUNDING YES!!!

Kentucky is on a downward slide and can't seem to deal with the way the game is played today.

Tennessee ain't bad but Barnes is not Oats.

Auburn can't win the big games. Pearl's good people though

LSU will not get back to form for a long time.

Texas, Oklahoma, A&M -- too many dilders, not enough horses, not enough chest.

Arkansas Mizzou

I don't think so. Buzz Williams is coming into his own.

This is a troll

Everyone here, regardless of affiliation knows that Coach Barnes is levels and levels ahead of Nathan.

It's not even close to be perfectly honest.

A case could be made. At this snapshot in time there are 2 SEC teams still standing. If the Vols drop out and Bama gets by UNC - a huge obstacle of course - who does that leave? Bama. Not to mention Barnes is in his 60s. Cal’s seat is burning. Pearl just lost to a 14 seed. Oats has Bama trending upward with momentum. Pretty cool time to be a Tide basketball fan.

Until this shite anomaly of a year, Musselman had 3 Sweet 16s and 2 Elite 8s. AR was holding the SEC torch in the tournaments.

Calipari, Musselman, Barnes, Pearl, Buzz, Beard (TX) are great coaches. I'd say they're pretty even with Oats.

Yes, with Buzz Williams a close second.

I would say yes and no. Just like in CFB most teams caught up to NS. There is too much parity with the NIL and the transfer rules. I dont see any program going on a long term run of dominance.

Well, that's incorrect. Auburn couldn't win close games this year for the most part and it was a problem all season that caught us in the tournament

Not sure that pairing “Nate Oats” and “favorite” is ideal.

Good luck on making the Elite 8. I know you guys have been to 1 back in 2004 so you are well versed in NCAAT success.
Just think, 2 wins gets you to a place that Bama basketball has never been.

A Bammer never has the right to laugh at Arkansas basketball when Alabama basketball is absolute dog shite and always has been.

Oats has been to the Sweet 16 three times and was knocked out in the first round once.

Barnes, just at Tennessee, has been to the Sweet 16 three times and the round of 32 twice, and was knocked out in the first round once.

I'd say they're pretty even right now as far as consistency and ceiling have been concerned.

And again, that's completely ignoring a whole lot of coaching Barnes did at Texas where he missed the NCAAT one time in 17 years, with a final four, 2 elite 8s, and 2 sweet 16s

I do think those are the top 2 coaches in the league right now, though, but the margin is razor thin IMO.

No the state media has already proclaimed Auburn/Pearl as the GOAT.

They did it again this year - and got burned - big time.

What "big game" has Oats won at Bama?

Oats, Pearl, Barnes & Muss (short of another disastrous season) are my tier 1 choices

Cal on his current trajectory, Buzz, Paris, Jans & Golden would be my Tier 2
