How would your school's best basketball team stack up vs this year's SEC?

the '94 team at home would beat anyone
on the road or a neutral site, I think Bama, Tennessee, Auburn, and Kentucky would be a nail biter if both teams brought their A games
the rest would be a W for the A game '94 team.

It depends. Do we get every starter healthy?
Because Auburn has a habit of key starters dealing with injuries at the end of the season.
Chuma Okeke’s knee
Walker Kessler’s shoulder
Jaylin Williams’ and Lior Bermans knees

Well this is a down year for us, and we beat the SEC champion along with Kentucky

I'm not sure I'd call Berman a star, but he certainly deserves respect.
I think AU's best team may drop road games to bama, UT, and one other, but wins out otherwise.

Today's teams would have no chance against the top teams of the past. The one-and-done system, plus the G league and such, have robbed college basketball of the best talent.
Plus the portal means they play together for 1-2 years instead of 3-4. It's no contest.

Roach would tear up the ACC. Ribock would be an enforcer. I think Kevin Joyce would thrive as a shooting guard. Winters would be good down low.
Probably would lead the league in technicals but ehh.

I'd love to see the Bernard King-Ernie Grunfeld team play the current team. That would be a battle!

This is our best team ever and we won’t even make the NIT. SEC basketball is brutal right now

94 team had it all. Great outside shooting with 7/8 legitimate 3 pt shooters. Team around 40%. Inside power with Williamson that demanded a double team leaving shooters open on the perimeter. 2 6’11” centers for added inside power. A 6’9”” 260 center who was over 40% from 3. A great point guard who could find the open man and score inside or out plus a great leader. Could play any style. Fast break or set offense. Very unselfish team. Great chemistry and coaching. They could play in any era.

The 96 UK team would probably go undefeated.

Can we combine rosters in the event of a tie? If so, we would run roughshod with a roster of:
Forwards - Joseph Jones, Chinumelu Elonu, Tyler Davis, DJ Hogg, Bryan Davis
Guards - Acie Law, Dominique Kirk, Donald Sloan, Admon Gilder, Alex Caruso, Danuel House, Jalen Jones

We'd probably finish 2nd in the SEC then have to self-impose a post season ban because an assistant coach gave a mid term with questions like "how many halves are in a college basketball game" and "how many points is a 3 point bucket worth".

Can I have Will Wade coach the Chris Jackson, Shaq, Stanley Roberts, Vernell Singleton, Maurice Williamson team? If so we go undefeated. If not the Big Baby, Tyrus Thomas team would probably win the conference this year.

State’s best regular season team was probably 2004 and they went undefeated on the road in conference play. That team won the SEC and probably contends for it this year.
Now the actual best State team is the ‘96 team for the first three weeks of March. That stretch from the SEC tourney to the Elite 8 is the best stretch of ball in State’s history. That team playing a full season like that probably wins the league and is a 1 or 2 seed.

Will Wade needs to coach the '81 team.

1990 final four team would be SEC champs.
78 team as well.

So did the 1990 final four team.

I think the '81 LSU team would run through the conference, maybe lose a game on the road to someone like Tennessee (if they get hot).
It was a different era, without shot clock or 3 pt line; but I think it would translate well. That team loved to run at any opportunity, which still works. Would run plays to get Macklin down low in the halfcourt offense, and Howard Carter and Willie Sims become that much more valuable as 3 pt threats. That was Carter's game anyway, when it only counted for 2.

‘78 Kentucky wasn’t too bad either. It beat that great Arkansas team in a bar fight in St Louis.
1996 Kentucky and 2015 Kentucky were both better than any team this year.

I would say that 94 team would win the conference.
