2007 was the peak of college football.

Either way, that doesn’t matter. Missouri has just never made sense.
If you think the term “cultural fit” was uttered even once in the money talks taking place with ESPN and FoxSports, you don’t have a very good understanding of the business of college sports.
Direct streaming isn’t the panacea it was predicted to be. Accordingly, as long as cable and cable sports tiers remain relevant, Mizzou will be very safe.

I don’t think most SEC fans understand NFL schedules. If we kick out the weaker schools and bring in others then 9-3 will win the conference most years. Going 7-5 will actually be a good year.

I'm not talking about business. I'm talking about Missouri not making any sense. I have no doubt they will do what's best for $$, hence OU and Texas (A&M actually makes SOME sense) but they have deep football traditions. Missouri doesn't.

I would completely stop watching if a charter member is cast off. Everything I loved about it would be absolutely dead.

Doubt it.
I watched 3-4 football games last season. I'm already close.

quote:Yeah, this is the problem with bringing in good teams and dropping weak ones. You will still have standings, and overall records based on who you play. If the SEC is Alabama, Oklahoma, Georgia and Texas (for example), someone is still going to be last. Or, everyone will be mediocre. There really is no other option.

Same thing will happen to the Big 10; you might see Washington crash back down. Or Penn State drop a few notches. Or Iowa, which has been skating on thin ice, go the way of Nebraska.
If you play "an elite" every game, there will be losses, and that team is not elite anymore.
I agree with the sentiment someone else expressed; this is killing college football at the grassroots level.

This is a some sports media jerkoffs who are pushing change culture, fantasizing over the pie in the sky in their dormant heads. This has to be the most feeble minded idea yet.

Can the SEC just vote to expel a school?

I think there is a movement in the media to cast out A&M at the very least. I do not think Snakey wants A&M, and is working with the whorn leadership to push them aside as quietly as possible for his favorite burnt orange team.
I would not be surprised to see A&M elsewhere in the next few years. I would say that Vandy, MSU, and A&M are all on the chopping block with that snake calling the shots.
Seen this song and dance before, and I don't think it is a coincidence that you continue to hear about A&M leaving the SEC. I think Snakey has told our leadership to feel free to look around - you aren't wanted or needed anymore.
